Danica done: Patrick wrecks in final race of NASCAR career

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Danica Patrick and Aaron Rodgers brought a dose of A-list attraction to a pit road scene that was more fitting for a red carpet. The starry-eyed sweethearts were mobbed by fans and media clicking away for a snapshot of some PDA that would surely spawn headlines. Then the moment came: Rodgers, a full foot taller than his new girlfriend, put his hands on Patrick’s shoulders and leaned in for a good-luck kiss.

Patrick’s final NASCAR race at the Daytona 500 captured her career to perfection. She had photojournalists embedded with her, a hunky celebrity NFL QB boyfriend by her side, social media buzzing — and a crumpled Chevy towed to the garage that put a premature end to her race.

Patrick smooched her boyfriend and then kissed her NASCAR career goodbye when she was caught up in a wreck in Sunday’s race.

Her final win-loss record was a dud: 0 for 191 in the Cup series.

One lifetime win. 08' in 151 indi car series races.

In 191 NASCAR Cup Series races:
0 top 5 finishes
7 top 10 finishes

In 61 NASCAR Xfinitiy series races:
1 top 5 finishes
7 top 10 finishes

She sure made a hell of a career of being a non factor. I'm surprised she ever kept a car.

Once again caught up in a wreck that was not her fault. At least this time she was near the front when it happened. Most of the big wrecks happen in the middle of the pack and she's usually in the middle of the pack.

Most of the time she finished around 20th which is still better than about 20 other drivers. Difference is she had top-shelf equipment so people expected better.
Last year her average finish was 23rd. Dale Jr.'s average finish was 20th.

Bubba Wallace finished 2nd in the #43 and I about **** my pants.

I watched some of this **** show. Too many damn wrecks. That ain't racing. 30 cars going 200mph inches from each other. Nobody can pull away, you gotta pretty much wreck the guy in front of you to pass. No wonder NASCAR is losing fans like they are.

Need to go back to more stock-looking cars, a few basic templates, and let people figure out their own shocks and springs. Let 'em race.

I don't think she can get a discount double check with her wreck
