Did anyone see his reach block on the Bell Td to his side? It was textbook. He had a DT lined up in the B gap and one in A gap. Pouncy cut the A gap,,
Decastro put such a nice reach block on his man , I got wood..

Just wondering if anyone else saw it.. I was impressed.

Like I said elsewhere, his early year passblocking probably kept him out... those stats are one of the few that the mass looks at. he has become a beast at pulling though. he plays as well as he has down the stretch lately next year and he will get in

He's giving me Faneca flashbacks. The guy is as legit as we dreamed

Usually players are deserving of being voted to the pro-bowl a year before they are, and likewise are voted to the pro bowl a year past when they deserve it at the end of their career.

That's odd because just a few games ago, the announcer said that DD was having a "very up and down" season. I didn't see it that way.

I remember at one point many people claiming he was a bust on this board.

Mustve been a Cowher dra........wha ? Wait..................What ???!!!

Announcers also have claimed over the years that the Steelers are physical on defense and have a power ground game.

Here it is ,, cant see it from the endzone view they showed on tv.. but you can still see it. You can just FF to the 1 min mark.

if you go to the very next play shown at the 1:08 mark.. Watch how our vet OLB Harrison, keeps square to the LOS and then squeezes down the line and plugs the hole. Perfect.

ok ill quit. Just liking some things we are doing .. if you see some things in this highlight video that you think is good or textbook etc.. point it out. what it is,, and which minute mark you see it.

Very first play. Heyward gets the sack but Tuitt's high motor is on display as he pushes the RT into the backfield and is right there also.

1:05 mark on the film Todd Haley with the beautifully executed stern look, clap and hammer fist pump. A move that has been known to be the cause of broken elbows.

1:10 - 1:18 Shazier though easily handled by the FB shows Haley how to execute the much safer arm extended skyward fist pump after the stop. Several teammates join him in this demonstration.

1:51 Another example of Tuitt's motor. Immediately after Smith releases his pass to Charles, Tuitt disengages from his blocker, cuts across field and is there when Charles is funneled inside. This is the hit that caused the Charles fumble. If Tuitt had reacted the way we've seen Thomas do all season, Charles gets a big gain on this play.

Let's hope the Steelers can do this and more to the Bengals Sunday!

Think back to the game in which JJ Watt went by him like he was a traffic cone. Decastro has had some moments this year that I'll bet he wished he could "do over" but he has been getting better and so has the rest of the line. The best thing about it is they have been getting better at the right time. I think Decastro is one of our best linemen and will continue to get better.

The titans have a really good guard that I had hoped would fall to the steelers in the draft, Womack. He would have been such a huge upgrade over Foster it is not even funny. That would have given us a tremendous interior line and we would not have been bothered by much up the middle at all.

DD is Hardly a pro bowler just because he pulled a couple times. Watch Heath on that bell td run. Don't let anybody tell you he can't block anymore.

Decastro should be in the Pro Bowl ahead of Pouncey. My opinion.

Decasto has had his moments as many here have said. But in his defense, it does take awhile to the sucktitude, out of the system, that Kaemoto had left behind.

Salute the nation

He's a bust ...... Tomlin drafted him so he has to suck. Oh wait, I forgot - Tomlin only gets blame for unsuccessful picks. Oh, and gets blame until the pick develops; then it's never to his credit.

Congrats Steely McBeam on the DeCastro pick

might not turn out as good as Faneca but surely as good as Hutchinson

He lost most of his first year to injury and is now completing his third. Sort of like Shazier? Jones will have about equal time at this point next year. Sometimes a little patience helps.

Lets say if this was a draft pick it would be a major reach, kinda like Dri Archer in the first instead of the third which still seems like a reach.

For the pro bowl claimants....I think what kept him out of the pro bowl was his pass blocking. Look at the highlight link again and watch DD on the play where ben hurt his leg. It was DD that got pushed straight back and into ben's lap. His run blocking is good. He can still improve on his pass blocking.
