Is he part of the future of our DLine? Can he be a stud DE starter for us?

Given that Cam Heyward is long in the tooth and Larry Ogunjobi is a rental, if the team drafts a DL with a high pick (1st/2nd round) do you see Leal as a starter player next to this possible blue chipper? After all he was also seen as a high 2nd until combine measurements made him fall a full round.

Hopefully mothersmilk gets to be a rotational player at the least giving us already 2 of the 5 guys for the future of the DL.

Leal an Loudermilk will be starters. Hoopefully Adams is around for awhile. Cam should be around for a few more years. I would love to see Ogunjobi resign for a few more years.
And I would love to draft a stud Dlineman in the 1st or 2nd round

Leal / Heyward / blue chip Rookie
as the starting 3 should be very interesting, if Larry O stays it should help the rotation a lot for the young guys

With Cam's play being able to drop off at any time and Loudermilk frankly a big question mark I am not waiting a season to address the position. No reason to with the draft capital the Steelers have and free agency available to them to upgrade as well. I expect an aggressive offseason using both at their disposal. I would like to come away in the draft with a LT and a DE. Perhaps a WR with one of the twos. Or a G. Time to reinforce the trenches and give Kenny a weapon. Outside of Pickens potential a need has surfaced.

I believe Cam's contract is up after next year and he will either need to take a HUGE paycut to stay on another contract with the Steelers, retire or be cut. He put on a few pounds this year for some reason. I mentioned this early in the season that maybe he did it to play more NT. Either way, he is gone after this contract unless they can work out a major pay cut. He will not be worth $15 million per anymore and not even $10 million per. I think he will show his age a good bit more next year when I believe he will be 34+.

I think the young man has starter possibilities..

But like 92 has work to do...

Physically it seems like he needs to get bigger/stronger IMHO..

To me it seemed like he gained a lot of weight from the combine, can he keep mobile and healthy with the extra bulk? Dude played DE, DT and even some OLB this season, hope he becomes a force at DE/DT

Im banking on leal being a stud and loudermilk being a legit starter… i think the next draft two blue chip olinemen are absolutely needed… the de can wait a year… i think its future it far brighter than most positions
OL is needed, but the current look at the draft and the depth at the top of the draft is at IDL or EDGE. As it stands today, Will Anderson and Jalen Carter would be the top two available prospects.

Then you probably trade down… honestly if they do end up with a top ten pick that could be the best option…

Here's where you wonder if the Steelers will get some influence from Howie Roseman and the Eagles with Andy Weidl in the front office. The Eagles have been very activity trading picks and this particular one is interesting:

March 26, 2021Acquired a 2021 first-round pick (No. 12 overall), a 2021 fourth-round pick (No. 123 overall), and a 2022 first-round pick from the Miami Dolphins in exchange for a 2021 first-round pick (No. 6 overall) and a 2021 fifth-round pick (No. 156 overall).

The Steelers could probably drop 5-6 spots, still get one of the top two offensive linemen and if they could bring in a future first, that would be fantastic. Obviously it depends on who is on the draft board at the time, but I have a feeling if this team wants a quick rebuild, they'll be active with their draft picks.

Or pick the best available defensive player and get a LT with that high 2nd. A problem with trading down is what kind of player are you leaving on the board? It isn't like OLBer and DE couldn't use an upgrade... We have a OLBer that seems to be just "ok", at DE you have father time and a 1 year rental who could be on the outs. I think hard on one of those selections if one is still on the board value wise. I guess some of this depends on how the team ultimately finishes. If they end up out of the top 5, BPA could be an O-Lineman.

Leal yes Loudermilk rotational guy need a stud 1T/DE in the second another tuitt type laong arms 300 lbs plus stout vs the run and can generate a decent pass rush via stunts like Tuitt.
Tyson will be gone, I have been watching alot of big 10 football and mazi smith would be the perfect NG to rotate with Adams and Kris Jenkins can be the perfect De/DT guy is solid vs the run and can generate a good pass rush.
With our roots we should be looking And scouting Michigan hard they have the type of NT we need a DE and blue chip C

Oluwatimi who is more a pouncey caliber all pro potential, Cole is alright but nothing spectacular just a decent upgrace over Green at C.

and Penn has has the perfect CB to par with Jackson Porter jr or with our top 10 pick we take Ringo from UGA

This goes against everything that is the Steeler way
U know when we get on the clock we only get 20 seconds to pick right??? There has to be some explanation for why we always race to the podium to turn in our pick in the first minute

Outside of Rod Woodson, every top ten pick we have had since we drafted Bradshaw was more or less junk… we are just better in the bottom half of the draft i guess

Who's the dumbass that signed off on drafting Leal??? Musta been our HC
No one is perfect but the lack of high picks investment in the trenches has no excuse during tombert regime

We need leal back in rotation when tj is back we using tj as a de in big nickel can afford to go 4-2-5 de watt ng cam 1t leal de wormley lb highsmith lb jack no ot or dt worth top 10 we also need a ilb to replace Spillane it’s just stupidly dropping a 4.6 ilb into coverage resign bush 3 years cheap deal and try getting too too
