It the Tackles go early and the top center prospect is gone our LB's who were picked on vs. the run and in coverage could use the upgrade.

As much as the idea of a Steelers LB with the name Lloyd on his back appeals no. My guy Jordan Davis fixes all their inside run problems and I don't think they are prepared to go ILB and give up on Devin Bush. I think as the year went on his coverage got better. They just need to keep their guys clean.

That and his first name is Devin.

Interesting draft profile. Still think Davis like Sask said might be better option. Steelers defense has historically (3-4 alignment) seemed to be at it’s best when there’s a dominant NT. So question then becomes is a run stopping NT worth a first in todays heavy sub package alignments? The traditionalist in me still says yes…..

Our top needs are DL and OL as 1A and 1B in no particular order. As much as it would be nice to go ILB in the first, even CB (which I would not pick in round 1 since we suck drafting CB's early) would be higher than ILB. And, all of this doesn't take into consideration our true No. 1 need at QB but hopefully we won't rich for a QB this year and wait a year or two.

Don’t waste your time discussing. He won’t be there at 20.

What if Davis, Cross and Penning are gone? I'm assuming ekwonu and neal are definitely gone? And Gardner is gone too?

IMO, the 5 most important positions in football are: QB, LT, EDGE, CB, and WR1. Right behind them are now are probably C and ILB. The Steelers could legitimately use a player at each one of those positions, so I take the best player on the big board available at one of those seven positions. Try to get a top player at an important position.

i predict he is awful again,, and the coaches keep trotting him out there.

I got to watch Devin Lloyd a lot on Saturday's this year since I moved to SLC. He's gonna be very good but until we get a solution at DT/NT - another ILB would be a luxury pick so I see why you like him.

Better options are either at WR or DT/NT at 1.20.

Should be a damn good OLineman there too.

Or extend schobert by 2 years to bring his cap number down cutting him saves 8 mill would love if cut and signed to a 2-3 year incentive laced deal

That should be the approach. On a team that needs a T,G,C,CB,WR,NT, DE and QB you like to be able to focus on upgrading those first. Unless they have a cheaper upgrade available in free agency. But if they are an upgrade the chances that they are cheaper is slim.

You always take the BPA at an area of need. Also, depending on what happens in free agency, they could go WR if one of the top guys is sitting there. You never know with the Steelers. They could also reach for a QB. We have a long way to go until the draft and even then, the Steelers will probably pick someone none of us would.

They aren't overly quiet with their likes. They usually pick pretty solid first round picks.

So unless they reach say on Willis. Then I agree most wouldn't care for that pick.

I guess it depends on what they do in free agency. if they shore up the lines and find a decent corner, then they could truly go BPA

If Willis or Pickett is there at 20, they will be taking them. I wouldn't be surprised if they took Corral or even Howell at 20 either. Teams always reach for QB's and I'm guessing the Steelers won't be any different but I sure hope they are.

Let's all hope you're wrong. I can maybe see Kenny, but that's just the homer in me.
Fix the damn lines.

ILB feels jinxed for us. We have potential all-world Shazier who has a freak accident and lost. Then we get Bush who seemed to show a ton of upside to start and then his play drops, he gets injured, play drops more, he starts posting and saying stupid crap. Definitely a position of strong need but man has it been a crap show as of late.
