More proof these kids aren’t going to college because of their smarts….
Why they are even forced to go to class amazes me too.
Just let them play without going to school. Implement a structured pay scale and no one can enter the Draft until 21.

Imbecile

But in his defense, we don’t know all the details or context.

****-im, he’s not a STEELERS player anymore.!!!

I think its funny he brought it up. Didn't have to. I like how the Steelers tried to make this a "roster upgrade" trade. Sure. Really. Sure.
Fights with defensive star, makes no effort whatsoever to pick up a fumble. Endless shots at QBs on the roster. Yeah Roster upgrade.

All of those issues should have been nipped in the butt by the HC long long ago. Unfortunately our HC likes to be buddy buddy with players. Tomlin gave Johnson the rope to play with week in and week out. For years. Johnson saw what other players got away with. Was this move above Tomlin? Was this an Omar move to create the Culture of years past.....team first and not me first? Guess we may never know.

Tomlin seems like a great guy and a mentor of men. While these are the best qualities to have as a human being, as a HC you have to be more. You have to be an above average fundamentals guy, and a world class X’s & O’s visionary. It is not enough to be a leader of men UNLESS your ego allows you to hire the best OC, DC and ALLOW them to do their thing.

I could be completely wrong, but Tomlin does not appear to be that type of guy. He APPEARS to be someone who needs to control every aspect of the team, without the complete skillset to do it.

I think it was an ultimatum to Pickens: we won't let you **** around, see how we dealt DJ to the ******* Carolina Panthers.

Addition by subtraction of a cancerous player

Perhaps. If they don't show Pickens the money he might eventually want out of here anyways at the end his contract. It isn't like we are a hot spot for WRs right now.

If you are a struggling WR they are the hot spot. Steelers have a plethora of them signed this offseason.

It wil;l always come down to money.

Absolutely, but also without a true plan in place to replace him. You don't win with attitudes like DJ had, but the Steelers also only have one player on their offense that will scare a defense and that's still probably on a limited route tree.

They had a plan, but it failed. The famous trade that never happened on draft day. Also they probably had a WR circled in the 2nd round but they went fast and Frazier was better value than those left

Shall be an interesting year for George. My take is there is no way George would ever consider anything the Steelers do an ultimatum. He will get paid a **** ton with someone, and I doubt it will be Pittsburgh. Unless they throw record breaking money at him. I’ve said for years now…..Pittsburgh is where receivers careers get put on hold. I think George would like more of the spotlight. QB’s throwing for 150 yards and maybe a TD a game is not going to do it. And all signs pointing to a run, run, pass conservative offense will do him no favors. Can only imagine what he would do with a real QB and the money he would make.

It's gonna take a Big Ben-type of talent to change where we are. And Big Bens don't grow on trees.
