I know he didn’t lose the game today but his fumble erased any chance of a rally in the second half and I honestly believe that has he not fumbled in the Detroit game we would be 8 and 7 right now and still have a shot. I like the kid’s heart and talent but I’m starting to think he has a problem focusing. Is he really the answer at #1 receiver?

He has pretty much been their entire offense at times. James Washigton doesn't exist on this team. It was a **** play no doubt. He had a poor game overall but he is still probably offensive MVP to be honest.

Good points. Im just about certain that if DJ puts two hands on the ball and when he sense a lot of traffic just gets down on the ground vs Detroit, Boswell would have come in and put DET out of their misery. But of course not. DJ doesnt think like that. Sure, I get that he is trying to make even more yardage, but at that point, you have to know the game situation and what your team needs to win. DJ plays in the NFL. He knows that ball hawking defenders are coming from behind you and swinging their fists and trying to dislodge the ball. Watch any team that PIT plays especially when that team is getting down toward the red zone or late in the game and the receiver or RB puts 2 hands on the ball. Sure you might not be as elusive like that, but by God you wont fumble and sometimes give the game away.

And as far as the fumble today, not really sure what he was thinking. It looked like he was trying to change the ball from one hand to the other and he just threw it on the ground AFTER he had made the 1st down I believe. It just should not have happened. NEVER. When Friermuth had the ball knocked out of his hands vs DET, I could understand that. The defender put his hat on the ball and nobody was going to be able to hold on to that ball. I get that, but Diontae's fumbles just dont have to happen. Playing smarter would keep them from happening.

DJ worked a ton in the off-season on his fumbling problem and it's shown this season for the most part, it's just reared its ugly head a couple times and this particular time is fresh.

I thought that was primarily drops he worked on. Being sloppy with the ball hopefully isn't a new issue for him. WR coach hasn't impressed me this year. Hell every coach for that matter. Man this team needs an overhaul badly.

Other than DJ and Claypool I don't think any WR should be safe on this team to be gone next year. I take that back. I would sign JuJu. When he went down, it was obvious how much he meant to this team - to Ben and to helping take coverage away from the other WR's. He, DJ, and Claypool could still easily be our top 3 WR's next year for whoever is at QB. That with Muuth, Najee and an improving (hopefully) O-line still has potential. I'd give Miller a full OTA and camp in our system to see if he jumps ahead (as I think he should have already) of the other WR's on the team. We need an OL in one of the top 2 picks in the draft and we need a starter OL in free agency - better than what we have this year.

Diontae gets in his own head. The suck was contagious yesterday and he couldn’t avoid it. He’s still the best offensive player in the roster.

The best Steelers offensive player, the prettiest pig in the pen, the greatest player to bat at or below the Mendoza line, and the most effective one-legged *** kicker all have something in common.

The fastest fat kid.

You're right, I meant drops. Thanks for the correction / man. I think I saw a stat where he had like 15 drops last season compared to 2 (until yesterday) this season. Big improvement.

He's worked hard to get better and he's our best WR so I'm willing to deal with the occasional mistake. He's the least of our concerns.

He is soft.

He's been soft as baby **** in the past, but he's improved by leaps & bounds this season making some tough, contested catches.

I don't think I've ever laughed more at a message board post than reading one BengalzRulz gem he posted on a Ravens message board that was re-posted here. The post was made shortly after the Bengals beat the Rats and was both nonsensical and incredibly hilarious.
