He's one of the most open, he also has the lowest run after catch in the league. So you have a guy who is open by the widest margin and then immediately tackled. What does that tell you? It tells you he is catching the ball while standing still. He's being completely misused in this kindergarten offense

How modelers talk themselves into this **** is so beyond me. Dude takes maybe what? 250, 500 play data that he sorts accounting for the matching "given the route, coverage, and depth".

JFC. TALK about survivorship bias.

un-fricken real. Well, maybe not because he is doing this **** in conjunction with psuedo-statistician Nate Silver's FiveThirtyEight!

"For every route run, Open Score assesses the likelihood a receiver would be able to complete a catch, conditional on if he were targeted."

So, Diontae "nay-nay" is being compared to the exact same situations where Mahomes has Kelce & Hill running over the middle out there?! <so, KC runs alot of outside passing game as i saw> Yeah much harder for defenders to forget the middle of the field and stay honest w/ Pickett as opposed to Mahomes.

I’ve been wondering about this. I don’t get in to the numbers like many here, I’m more of a ‘what my eyes tell me’ kind of guy. DJ is so quick and explosive when he comes back to the ball, he’s often running backwards when he catches it. I’m always looking to the ref to see where he spots forward progress.

THIS

Nail head (O'Canada), meet ****-ing 16# railroad sledge hammer.

When you run full speed gaurding and the WR pulls up into a curl, the defender slides on by creating the "open" space. Then the group gang tackles because he is sitting still for ball.

Salute the nation

When they have him running 5 yd outs toward the sideline, there is Zero chance at RAC.
