The Pittsburgh Steelers have reportedly fell in love with several quarterbacks in the early parts of their 2022 offseason. Don’t buy the hype of every tweet or Facebook post that you see!

Steeler Nation, you better buckle up because from now until the start of the 2022 season, the Steelers are going to be linked to every possible quarterback option, whether it be via trade, free-agent signing, or draft pick. It’s something that Steelers’ fans haven’t had to deal with in at least 18 years. We’re on the market for a franchise QB and every reporter is ready to blow smoke to gain clicks.

  • Reports have surfaced that Liberty QB Malik Willis has caught the eye of Steelers’ brass including HC Mike Tomlin.
Mike Tomlin, Kevin Colbert and Matt Canada had a lengthy talk with the parents of Malik Willis after today’s practice.

Willis’ father said Colbert had introduced himself at the Liberty bowl game and Tomlin told Willis on the field after practice he wanted to meet his family.

  • Reports have surfaced that the Steelers are interested in trading for San Francisco 49ers’ QB Jimmy Garoppolo.
NFL insider @MattLombardoNFL who broke the news that the Steelers are making "a strong push to trade for Jimmy Garoppolo" says on @937theFan his NFL sources believe the Steelers prefer to Jimmy G to any of the rookie quarterbacks in the draft (Pickett, Willis, etc.)

  • Reports have also surfaced that the Steelers would take Pittsburgh Panthers’ QB Kenny Pickett, if he’s available at 20 in the 2022 NFL Draft.

The point I’m trying to make is there are going to be thousands of reports linking the Steelers to every quarterback and most reports can be backed up with “sources.” Take everything that you hear or read with a grain of salt and just wait for the dominoes to fall. Will the Steelers add a quarterback to a room that has Mason Rudolph, Dwayne Haskins, and Josh Dobbs? There’s about a 99% chance of that happening. The Steelers are going to do their due diligence on many quarterbacks in order to find the next franchise guy to follow in the footsteps of future first ballot Hall of Famer, Ben Roethlisberger. So, just because you see a report that states that the Steelers, Kevin Colbert, or Tomlin love a quarterback, doesn’t mean the Steelers are going to take that guy in the draft or trade for him. They’re just doing their jobs. Sit back and trust the process, Steeler Nation!

I’m going to be honest, whether you like it or not, Haskins and Rudolph have the inside track to start next season. The Steelers really focus on continuity and familiarity and I think that one of those guys will get a real chance to start for the Steelers next season. Will the Steelers add to the quarterback room for competition? Most likely, but that doesn’t mean whoever they add will come in and be named the starter. Enjoy this beautiful ride of fandom!

Who do you think the next starting quarterback of the Steelers will be? Sound off in the comment section below, or on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!

No faith in any of those writers except Lolley. Who was at every practice and interview session the past 20+ years. The others have not. Fillpponi is Click bait and Saunders states the obvious for every 1st round prospect IMO.

I think the Steelers will use a 4th or 5th round pick for a qb and see if he can stick. If not, we will see Rudolph and Haskins with Dobbs as emergency.
