If the Pittsburgh Steelers don’t manage to lure Mike Munchak back to town, why not Doug Marrone?
Sources told ESPN on Sunday that Eric Wolford has accepted the offensive line coaching job at Alabama, replacing Marrone
There’s speculation that Marrone left Alabama because he intends to return to the NFL coaching ranks. Marrone of course last coached the Jacksonville Jaguars before being fired and replaced with Urban Meyer.
Now there was a lot of speculation that Marrone would head to Denver to reunite with his former offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett who was just hired as head coach. But the Broncos hired an offensive line coach and booted Mike Munchak out of town.
Marrone broke into the NFL as an offensive line coach with the Jets in 2002. From there he headed to New Orleans where he coached the line and eventually was offensive coordinator. Hes also been the head coach for Syracuse University, the Buffalo Bills, and Jaguars.
One thing that’s constantly followed Marrone around has been solid offensive line play, and solid running games.
