What do you think of him as new GM. He is a strong contender. Was with with Steelers for a decade. Had some Gaffes. Will be interesting.
I be a hell of lot more interested in what he did inn his time in Pittsburgh what was his role on putting those teams that win SBs together.Whaley would be incredibly underwhelming.
1. Zero 10+ win seasons while in Buffalo.
2. Zero playoff appearances while in Buffalo.
3. Averaged just over 6.5 wins per season while in Buffalo, 7.5 wins per season while was GM.
4. First round picks as GM: EJ Manuel, Sammy Watkins, Shaq Lawson, and Tre'Davious White.
5. He's been out of the NFL since being fired by the Bills.
6. Bills fans are universally laughing at the prospect of Whaley being a serious candidate for the Steelers.
7. Whaley was recently on the radio and said he would've drafted Trent McDuffie over Kenny Pickett.
I really don't see any upside in hiring Whaley.
Whaley hasn't been with the Steelers since 2009 and his record post-Steelers was mediocre. The Bills were 30-34 under his direction. I am not interested what he did 13 years ago while working under a Hall of Fame GM.I be a hell of lot more interested in what he did inn his time in Pittsburgh what was his role on putting those teams that win SBs together.
I guess he’s the one you want. Personally I would rather go with Hunt.Exactly who do you think they should hire? Please enlighten us!!!!
I wouldn't say that. All I'm saying is if your gonna **** on Whaley then let's here your candidate. Hunt did the same job as Whaley with the Steelers. Just without the Super Bowls.I guess he’s the one you want. Personally I would rather go with Hunt.
I don't know who I'd hire, I just know I am not enthralled with a former GM who could not build a playoff contender.Exactly who do you think they should hire? Please enlighten us!!!!
I would definitely not use the word enthralled. I think Whaley might be best of the lot. Let's look at Kahn. Great money guy. Well versed in the teams Financials. But does he have sn eye for talent. So basically you are saying you would rather have an unknown over a guy with organization experience and GM experience (maybe it was rough, but I'm sure he learned some things).I don't know who I'd hire, I just know I am not enthralled with a former GM who could not build a playoff contender.
the only thing I think is an unwritten rule is they have to have ties to Western PaI will freely admit that I know nothing about the vetting process that the Steelers are using to pick a new GM.
My only conclusion, which is again worth nothing, is that none of the candidates stand out from one another.
I would rather take a chance on an unknown. I also want someone with fewer ties to the organization because we need a little bit of a shakeup to get back to being a legit contender.I would definitely not use the word enthralled. I tend to agree with this. Sometimes you need to get away from the "that's the way we've always done it" routine, especially since it hasn't really worked that well in the past decade or so.I would rather take a chance on an unknown.
