According to Jerry Dulac, he states he wouldn’t call Steeler management including Art, angry but did state more like frustrated and growing impatient.
Hmm! Now if they get slammed this Sunday at home against the Colts then at LA, this could get most interesting.
Art simply cannot be pleased spending tons of money for an old, underperforming, overpriced, overrated defense.
This is Tomlin’s baby! These are the players he wanted, talked up this defense, and now it implodes.
How can he possibly justify any of this mess.

**** yes!!!!! Well said. Encourage everyone to read this article (hope it isn’t against Justin’s rules, if so I’m sorry, but this guy is spot on with most of what fans are thinking too) 🙌

Paul Zeise just unloaded on the greatest head football coach of all time in the Post Gazette.
https://www.post-gazette.com/.../nfl.../stories/202510280092
Zeise basically just highlighted that when a head coach has been with a franchise that long, the franchise takes on the identity of the head coach.

The defense being the main struggle this year makes it tough for fans at the game to voice frustration. When the offense has another pathetic three-and-out, it's easy to boo the playcalling or execution when they send out the punt team. Green Bay completing a 20th straight pass or scoring another TD just sucks the life out of you.

Good article, but he didn’t go nearly far enough. The Pittsburgh media has to lose its fear of criticizing Mike Tomlin and call for his ouster. Every living, breathing human being can see where the problem lies and has lain for years. Yeah, the Steelers may fall into coaching purgatory for a while, and may be awful for a while. You can’t move forward if you’re standing still, and that’s what the Steelers are doing right now.

All the Steelers have to do is look uptown. The Penguins dumped a relatively popular coach in Bylsma when it was clearly time. The next guy failed before Sullivan brought championship-level hockey. Very similar to Tomlin, he faded in terms of playoff success. It's very early in the season, but the Penguins have new life with a new coach. Change could have worse results, but it could also reinvigorate a franchise.

Sullivan won two Stanley Cups back to back, and they still fired him.

The Steelers have wasted over a decade on this with zero signs of improvement back to elite status.

The goal damn sure isn't championships or he would have already pulled the plug.

This is what happens when you're spoiled with a sold out stadium and a season ticket waiting list.

The money is the same win or lose and you have a distant past of winning championships.

Meh....nothing to see here....Tomlin is all good. What will Art do? Fire Tomlin? LOL

How many Tomlinship's did Bylsma have though?

Damn it, I bet you doomsayers don't realize that Mike Tomlin has never had a losing season! Never!

That is the goal of every professional sports franchise - go .500 or very, very slightly above and if you somehow sneak into the playoffs with the last spot, relying on a bunch of tiebreakers, the goal is to stay within 30 in the first round game before the other team subs out its QB.

Failing that, the goal is to wash, rinse, repeat.

Hoo-boy, if the Steelers are 4-9 as I think they well could be in six weeks, I bet Art II is going to be even more frustrated. Just slightly more, granted, but still that frustration level will be approaching critical mass in another 2-3 years of failure, mediocrity, embarrassment and impotence.

Tomlin won’t get mid-season fired, but I wouldn’t rule out if a major slide happens.

Art 2 is getting feed-back from his cronies / family as to the look of the franchise.

Us here, people in public are saying things about how far this once GREAT Franchise has fallen.

I think Art 2 may be getting wind of that type of stuff and could be putting a contingency plan together.

As for execution of the plan will follow on how far the demise of the season goes.

I’d love to see a “BIG” name Steelers Old Player blow off on the fallen Franchise and ineptitude of the Tomlin.

Look how fast O’Canada got canned. Arthur Smit5h could short term the HCing needs. Call Dick L. For consulting DC job.

Least they they lose six out of the next ten games which is very likely with this predictable, anequated defense tests leaves us at 8-9, losing season.
After all the money spent on this defense Art would have to demand serious changes.
Tomlin gone, most likely not but Austin and others must assuredly gone. It does have to open Art’s eyes and start to question Tomlin and maybe we’re closer to the end with this fool.
At some point soon the son Danny has to be waiting to take over and I would think he’d want by to forge his own path.
I think Tomlin is closer to the end than we think. A dismissal probably not but a mutual parting of the way to save face for Tomlin.
The more dissatisfied the fan base becomes, then the local media starts adding pressure,it could happen

I hear ya Drink, but Terry B. did it and everyone looked the other way. I think it may take multiple at once and repeatedly to even move the needle.

And like all other Pittsburgh reporters who similarly criticize MT, he shrinks away from calling for him to be fired.
Agreed but I bet he’s not sitting anywhere close to any podiums anytime soon. He’s blinking, Dumlin is putting pudding back in the box, if you will, obviously, and so forth.

Terry did it years ago, something today would gain much more traction than in the past. The mood is set, the crowd is ready to pounce.

Art 2 knows there is stir in the air, thus the frustration fermenting.

You’re right, the more the merrier on the names and if they were to focus more on what the legacy has become. How far the “Legacy” has fallen under the leadership of the Tomlin. Sway away from the Tomlin negativity and focus more on how far the franchise has fallen, that would put a bigger fire under Art 2’s assZ and maybe, just maybe…………..

PS, thanks for you great post(s) along the way, appreciate yaz.!!!

Deuce would care a lot less if he wasn't signing paychecks for The League's Highest Paid Defense.
Bob Nutting called to tell Deuce that he could spend less money and still have a lousy team.

The Steelers are now in their longest stretch without a playoff win since Chuck Noll was hired in 1969.
But hey, never a losing season, greatest coach everrrrr.......

No kidding they could spend a lot less money and still have the 30 ranked defense and 32 DEAD LAST vs the pass. The cost doesn't match the return.

and here come the Colts,Chargers and Bungles.
