Eagles had 3 first rounders this year and just traded to pick up and extra 1st next year. This is significant to the Steelers because next year is seen as a better QB draft and already 5 teams have an extra 1st rounder in 2023. So you have some teams setting up to make the move next year and some preparing this year.

Eagles are trading the saints the 16th and 19th this year and getting the 18th this year a 1st rounder next year. There are multiple later round picks involved as well. This still leaves the Eagles with pick 15 and and q8 this year. The saint with 16 and 19.

Seems the Saints are looking to trade up this year. The eagles can still go either way and trade up this year if they like a guy or roll with Hurts for this year and stockpile picks to replace him next year.

Here’s more details

Fantastic move for Philadelphia. They are stacked with first-round picks but all in the same area of the draft. Really not high enough to get an elite prospect so they capitalize and have a chance to get a pretty good selection from New Orleans next year. Eagles fans should love this move.

And snuck in a 2nd round pick the following year. Philly looks like the positional winner.

When we trade up to get Willis we won't have any 1st round picks next year.

If the Saints are good in 2023 and 2024, seems like a ****** trade for the Eagles. Also don’t understand trading 19 for 18.

Eagles traded both 16 and 19 this year and they are getting back 18 this year and a 1st next year plus multiple later round picks. The point is the Eagles had 3 first rounders this year and wanted to trade one away to have 2 for next year. I won't be surprised if they trade away another this year to so they end up with 3 first rounders next year and really have the ammo to get any QB they want next year.

Right, but for all anyone knows they traded away THIS year’s #16 for NEXT year’s #32. Typically a pick in the current year is worth a pick one round earlier next year. The 2024 2nd rounder they got is equivalent to a 4th rounder this year. Seems like the Eagles got ahead of themselves in the riches of next year’s draft.

They’re projecting a bad year for the Saints, which is very possible as they break in a new head coach along with having a glut of picks in the middle of the first. There may not be three guys they love there either. They still have flexibility this year and now have flexibility for next year as well. Have to hit on the picks, though.

I’m thinking more and more that’s the plan.

I'm against trade capital for any QBs available this draft. I'm not a professional evaluator but many have said that this is a weak class of QBs but teams appear to be willing to draft 2nd-3rd round talent in the first round.

What ever they do we as fans will find support for them and root them on.

Well said. Agree 100%.

Saints assure themselves that they get a QB ahead of the Steelers if the Steelers don't move up. I am fine with that. I pray that Willis goes to Detroit at 2 or the Seahawks at 9, the Aints get Pickett or Corral at 16 or 19, and the Steelers take advantage by nabbing Penning or Elam at 20.
