Kinda surprised..but if he can't stay healthy. We do need some Guard depth though.

Steelers released G Nik Embernate and signed T Emmanuel McCray.
The 2013 priority UDFA known as "Embernasty" never had a chance after blowing out his knee last August. McCray is a fresh UDFA that was cut by the Chargers after three days.

Emmanuel McCray fits more into the Munchak system than Embernate. Too bad I had some high hopes for him before he blew out his ACL.

Spence seemed to make it from the Tub. Makes me think ebernate may be no longer a player. If the injury is such that he is not progressing he maybe out of football.

If he clears waivers the team can put him in pup and he won't count towards the roster. He's still technically a part of the team just not the active roster.

I guess that could be the thought. He comes to OTA's no where near ready to play so they figure cut him PUP him and see how his rehab progresses.

He cleared waivers which I believe means he reverts to our injured list. Hopefully he'll be ready for camp although we'd have to cut someone to put him on the active roster.
