died today at the age of 49. He had been battling cancer for a while.

RIP Stuart. You were one of my favorites.

Yeah, I didn't know he was sick until a few weeks ago when Suzy Kolber said something about it prior to a game. I had wondered why I hadn't seen him on lately, but thought they were phasing him out for new blood.

That sucks. I didn't realize he was in such bad shape, but it explains that little tribute thing they had for him a few weeks ago on Monday Night Football. Suzy Kolber seemed pretty emotional, and now we know why.

He had a couple prior bouts with cancer.

And suddenly last night's loss has been put into perspective.

Bummed me out a bunch when I heard it this morning.

Watching a tribute to him on Sportscenter and I am sobbing.

So sad to hear about Scott I really liked him.

All I gotta say is 2.1% 5 year survival rate for cancer patients treated with Chemo, Surgery & Radiation. 47% of cancer patients die of Cachexia better known as Malnutrition.

If your get cancer fight it this way.... http://thetruthaboutcancer.com/ BOOYEAH!

Drag....haven't watched espn in a while but back in the day when they were pretty much the only option Stuart used to be very entertaining! RIP

Prayers and thoughts to his family. He was great at his job and sounded to be even better person. RIP Stu.

Enjoy life to the fullest and I will always enjoy watching the black and gold, win or lose... after all it is just a game and fortunately life does goes on.

Never cared much for his schtick, but this is truly as sad outcome. The guy had a passion for his job and for his life, and those are admirable traits. RIP Stuart, Godspeed.

He has a college aged daughter and a 14 year old daughter. Breaks my heart.

My heartfelt sympathies go out to Stuart's family, friends and colleagues.

I pray that humanity might one day solve this scourge we call cancer, even if its well after my time

Stuart Scott was one of about five or six SportsCenter anchors that I grew up with and imitated while I was younger. I've heard nothing but good things about him and am saddened by this news. Prayers to his family and friends.

RIP Stuart. You were damn good.

Haven't watched ESPN for years but back when I did Stuart was one of my favorites for sure with his big eyes and catch phrases. RIP sir

Even if a person didn't like him or his style, he/she should watch Scott's ESPY award acceptance speech from last summer. I was snort sobbing watching it.

Don't worry we'll pray it away one day.

Stay classy, Elfie. Save your anti Christianity comments for another thread. Warning number one.

And if you have something to say, PM me. I am NOT going to turn this thread into one filled with disrespect.
