Extend Joey Porter Jr, please

Absolutely. He's on the verge of being all pro.
Joey Porter Jr. has not allowed a touchdown on his last 1,467 regular season coverage snaps dating back to Week 8 of 2023, the longest streak of any cornerback in the Next Gen Stats era and more than twice the length of the next-longest active streak. Porter allowed a 53.0% completion percentage in coverage this season (10th-lowest) despite facing targets at an average depth of 9.8 air yards, the 2nd-shallowest among cornerbacks who allowed a completion percentage below 60% on 50+ targets.

Agree. He got better at not taking penalties this year.

He certainly had a great year!

Hopefully he can be a core contributor over the next decade.

I'd think he'd be fine with a new HC as Tomlin ran his dad out off the team as a player and then fired him as a coach.....even after Peezy pulled that last PO win outta his *** in bungleland.

Absolutely and some others as well. Not enough draft picks are getting second contracts and we have some foundational pieces in place right now.

That quagmire of a game was our last PO win? Holy cow....Seems like a lifetime ago.

I just wish he were more professional between plays, I don't know if that's the correct adjective but he is always bragging after a good play, even when losing a playoff game and that sucks. I just want players that hand the ball to the refs after and go back to the line if you know what I mean

Very few of Porters "Penalties" were actual penalties, refs have eyes for the guy.

Joe
after this great season he will start getting respect from the League, I think all CBs go through that unless they are a top10 pick and get immediate preference.

That’s a direct result of of the current social media, me generation, of young people today.
Self promotion is not only seen as a necessary personal choice, but as a critical necessity in today’s instant fame and gratification world.

JPJ took a lot of his penalties earlier in the season due to his reputation. As the season wore on that situation corrected itself. Big things ahead for JPJ!

Stop wearing yellow damn gloves!!!!! There has to be someone on the D coaching staff that realized a 'handsy' player is just giving it away with bright yellow gloves!

Joey had a nice season and yes I would prioritize him and Kenny Gainwell.
Another guy that needs extended is Nicky Herbig, he’s a better player right now than TJ which brings me to another thing.
Try and move TJ to a playoff caliber team to move this contract and give TJ a chance to win a playoff game. Maybe can get a third round pick and you take some dead cap hit but I think better than keeping him and that contract.
Must improve the WR room! Top priority. Draft two receivers and sign one in FA.
Move on from the big three…. MVS, Thielen, Scotty Miller. Cal Austin I’d consider resigning but it wouldn’t be for much.
Jonnu, it was nice knowing you.
Seamulo can leave as well. That LG spot needs upgraded either in the draft or FA.
QB, goodbye Mr.Rodgers. Thank you for your service but I think it’s time for you to get on with your life’s work.
This one will be most difficult. We have nothing in the cupboard. Thank you Mikey T, for that.

I would actually see if Thielen was interested in returning on a vet min contract. I thought he played really well considering the lack of time he had to get ready here and his smart veteran presence would be more than welcome in the wide receivers room and he would probably be an invaluable help to Will Howard as well, or whoever the new quarterback is.

Yes, all athletes need to learn the Barry Sanders celebration early in life.
