Time to make a move put some chips in the game hedge the bets we already made: trade for wr adams he’ll make everyone on the offense better from fields, the o-line, The running game and Pickens. I thought the double tight end power game with passes to Harris, muth, picketts would be enough… it’s not… it stinks! we need a stud wr if we’re going to take on these tougher teams. Adams is just what the dr ordered he’s a first down machine, hes big he’s tough he runs the best routes in football. We don’t do this much but he’s a full impact player a solid vet on a young team I’d do it!

I
And expensive as hell the next couple of years
its a pay me now or pay me later… this offense needs a focal point wr Adam would be an awesome addition! We can dump a couple contracts next season we have some young guys coming up both on defense and offense thing is we won’t be paying a qb for awhile but in the mean time we need a passing offense this might be the way to accomplish that

BA might come cheap now. His best game was 5 catches for 48 yrds. He has had had 2 catches in 2 games, and 4 catches in the other. I do think Adams is a beast and much better than BA, it is just a matter of how much do we have to give up? I wish we would let Roman play just to see if we have any idea what we have

They could add a year or two and lower the cost. If both parties had interest it could come about without breaking the bank…

That would be optimal since his contract is expensive over 2 years. Give him another year or two,and turn a chunk into a signing bonus.

Personally,I'd rather have Brock Bowers from that team.

If the STEELERS want this to happen, they would make it happen.

With Coach Tomlin’s “play not to lose” approach, just how much would Adam’s make a difference? It would require this offense to be opened up much more than it currently is.

I’m all for improving and Adam’s would be on that road to improvement. Until you get the philosophy of the head coach to adjust, we would just be adding a better player to only be under-used along the way.

I just want those chains to keep moving. I know it is a long shot when the chips are down. But hell one playoff game win and everything else is easier to swallow.

I think Aiyuk is learning what being the #1 WR means, and congrats to him for getting $$$ before his production dropped.

Adams and Hopkins both look like potential options; Adams obviously more expensive. It will probably take a couple more weeks for all teams to get comfort on any movement.

Hopkins would be less $$$$$, but also shorter term. Could give us enough time for WR Wilson and up coming draft to get a WR. Also a high pick OL (tackle).

Aiyuk was fools gold, guy had one top 10 wr finish in his career, Adams is old with alot of miles but doesn't look shot, could make a huge difference for the offense. Game changer. Defenses would have to account for Pickens and Adams, It would open everything else up, The run, Fields running and Muth over the middle. as one poster said. It would also give Fields every opportunity to succeed. We would know definitively what we have at QB by the end of the season, and the best WR tandem in the league, seems like a pipe dream but

Adams is expensive and 32. Both are negatives and things the Steelers need to be thinking about. They will, more than likely, need to give him an extension to help lower his cap hits unless they can get the Raiders to take care of some of the cap hits. The closer to the trade deadline, the better chance they would go for something like that. They are currently asking for a 2nd round pick and other compensation, whatever that is.

It’s a long *** season..
The rookie will get his chance.

That’s my preseason expectation … one playoff win !

The days I keep my expectations low…are when I have really good days .
😉

Idk boys if it’s worth trading a high draft choice for Adams then having to pay him. Yes, excellent WR, no doubt but the thing that bothers me is his age. He turns 32 in December and it concerns me since these guys start hitting the wall when they get on the other side of 30. Same with Hopkins in Tenn., he’s I believe 33.
Imo this is not a SB team, it’s just not. Look how the defense got exploited by the Colts Sunday aren’t exactly a juggernaut.
We have an OL riddled with injury and trying to mesh which will take more time now with continuing new pieces.
Yes, nice start to the season but can’t see any better than 9-8 maybe 10-7 and if playoffs, first round beating because they won’t be able to compete with the elite teams.
Keep the draft picks, get the rookie Roman Wilson in there and see if he can improve the passing game.
If anything we take out of this season maybe we found our QB in Justin which will be a hell of a lot to build on for next year. Draft your WR’s next draft.

i think the next two years of adams contract are voidable, wouldn't be that expensive for the remainder of this year. can easily write a new contract this coming offseason. the bigger question is what they want in return. khan will let this drag out til the 11th hour and try to get the best deal possible done. we'll see, would be a great addition. adams isn't too old for the type of wr he is. he's a big, yac, possession receiver who can read a defense and win contested matchups. he's like anquan bolden on steroids. he'll be 40 before he's as slow as bolden.

Dude seems like the epitome of a “hostage”
A very expensive hostage at that
We need volunteers

I’d pass on him
Would rather allocate that money to OL, RB or DL next year over paying him QB money

Could cover all three of those positions with premium free agents for his price tag

If he wants to take a huge paycut and the Raiders wanna basically give him away sure…but no way would I want his attitude and that salary, poor allocation of resources imho
