Must be Blanda, George Blanda.

HOF'er originally from Pittsburgh.

As old as Blanda was, it probably could be...............................................

I think the orignal position is the preferable one. It's basically the first thing you notice and can't miss it upon arrival. Many probably won't even notice it now walking out of the airport. Returning your frazeled, maybe hungover and trying to get your stuff together and looking for the appropriate line at security. Locals can see this statue at the Heinz history center.

It's possible the renovation of the airport and changing the entire landside/airside design is the reason and that I can understand.

Agree. Or simply add a second one in the airside where it used to be.

Terrible move. Always a treat to see Franco when we land. Moving them landside means we don't see them when we land now.

Both of these. ^^^^^^^^

I loved it the very first time I arrived in PITTSBURGH, I was a green-horn from nowhere. I came across that statue aND JUST COULDN’T BELIEVE IT. I was so excited, like a bull in a china shop. Couldn’t believe my eyes………

Now, if I ever get out there I’ll be like WTF…………. and not even see it……. (I’ll look specially and see it).
