Frank Reich fired by Panthers

I haven't watched one game or highlight of the Panthers this season. Not because they suck, but I just haven't.

What does their OL play look like???

I'll go watch a few this evening to answer my own question...

He was fired because Bryce Young looks terrible. Will Carolina go after Bill O’Brien who was Young’s OC at Bama? O’Brien is a Boston guy. Maybe he just wants to wait in line for the Pats job if Belichick retires.

Tepper has been a disaster for that franchise. He’s also pissed every other first-round QB has looked better than Young.
It's different when you line up against a team and every player at every position on your team is better than every player at every position on your opponent's team. Mac Jones looked good in that offense, not so much in the NFL. Same with Young. It appears that both QB's were fool's gold, propped up but the outstanding players around them.

I've been reading more on the Panthers...

Bryce Young is playing behind a porous OL. That's on the FO. Frank should have created schemes to help that but, obviously it did happen.

Still going to watch for myself but it is starting to make sense why Young Bryce is struggling...

Just saw that. He's a good option for next year at OC, if we look outside...

If and that is a big IF......

I have a bad feeling if things improve enough they will keep things the way they are and accept mediocrity, when what we really want is a bright new OC mind to get us over the "never a losing season" hump.

Ok...

Let me step in here.

Mac Jones, truly was surrounded by great talent during his time at Bama and that has not translated well in Cheatland. I'm sorry he's there, but oh well, as long as Belicheat looks terrible - so be it.

Bryce Young, had less talent and still ranks as the best QB Bama has had during the Saban era. His OL, in Carolina, is atrocious (apparently), and if we're gonna give Kenny a pass because of poor OL play (and the worse OC in the history of football) then why not Bryce?

Maybe I shouldn't have suggested looking at Reich as an option for an outside candidate at OC???

Yeah---disappointing expected more from a fellow Peabody High alum...

Tepper's are good people though...was in the same class as his younger brother Scott.

Living down in Carolina I’d have to say he’s been an outright disaster and a hard pass on Tank Reich unless we’re looking to improve our draft picks in 2025

Rather have Sullivan/Faulkner duo or even better a new and innovative offensive voice, definitely not a retread coach coming off two miserable failures tho

Imo we can do better and should do better than that, we’ve already suffered through Canada 😂

That's all I need to hear!

That is the rub when drafting out of the most successful or any long time successful college program.
Its very difficult to evaluate individual talent.

Najee is also a good example of benefiting from the talent around him in school....and there have been many others.

Onto important news Berm

What’s gonna happen in the national championship game, I mean SEC title game 😂
Excellent question, Grasshopper!!!

I'm waiting on Tape's assessment but the game should be epic!

Georgia is the biggest test we'll face this year and if Bowers is out (doubt it) we kinda of have a chance, IMO... scratch that, we're gonna stop the air attack and grind assault!!!

Bama will be in the top 4 and win it all. Coach Saban will retire and Deion Sanders will succeed him...

Damn. I need a drink...

They will be hating not taking Stroud for years to come
I read that was an ownership decision not management or coaches.

Also, they are on the hook for Rhule's 8.5 million and Reich's 9 million per year until 2027. Ouch!

Unless he is caught doing lap dances with strippers or something why fire a head coach before the 1st year is up?

No thanks. As a consultant if needed? Sure. Not as an OC
