Given the current roster situation is fair to think the front office should try to bring one or two vets to fill some positions, wouldn't be the first time Colbert brings a valuable vet and given that now there's some cap space maybe they taget someone that can remove sopme pressure from draft day, allowing to go BPA instead of out of necessity. Here are my favorite FA available:

- Eric Fisher LT 30 y/o
- Geno Atkins DT 33 y/o
- Malcolm Butler CB 32 y/o
- AJ Bouye 29 CB y/o (he currently is suspended for substance abuse, 2 games left on his suspension for this upcoming season)
- Russel Okung LT 33 y/o, yeap he is injury prone but he could come in cheap and the talent is there
- Danny Shelton DT 28 y/o
- Jesse James TE 27 y/o
- Duke Johnson RB 28 y/o only if they don't want to give a chance to McFarland
- LJ Fort ILB 31 y/o
- Avery Wiliiamson ILB 29 y/o (he did ok, he can only improve next to a dynamic player like Bush)

I'm not sure if all of them are still available but they would help in different levels. Who else is there available that you would like to see in B&G?

I would bring in AJ , Jesse, and Williamson on that provided list. Especially AJ.

I'd be ok with a few on the list at the right price:
AJ Bouye is not a bad CB and 2 games suspension is nothing. Helps ease the loss of Nelson.
Danny Shelton to plug the middle wouldn't be a bad move.
Jesse James can catch and block. If he's ok with a dysfunctional locker room again I say bring him back.
Avery Williamson for sure. Would be good next to Bush.

None of these guys should be that expensive.

I thought Fort has looked pretty good inside for the Rats. I'd bring James back but he left saying how dysfunctional the locker room was. Probably not happening.

Fisher is the one who Harrison used to destroy correct?

There are a bunch of worthwhile guys on the trade block right now... offer a fifth around and see if any of these teams are desperate...
We don't have a fifth rounder to offer.

Honestly there are two things i do like about the *’s way of doing things... (compared to a near infinity that I despise)
One is how they offer real low picks for real good players so if everyone else bails on them, they get them dirt cheap

the other is how they stockpile picks... we don’t really do that... mostly we just spend every pick we have and rarely actually trade players for picks unless its an AB situation...

honestly I seem to remember a year we had a stacked roster in most every position and added like 9 or 10 draft picks to it anyhow... most were immediately cut... trade some of those for future picks... you can almost always move the pick up a round trading into the future... if they traded some seventh rounders for a sixth the following season and continued that pick forward you could probably at least get to a third before teams start shying away... who knows maybe you could get it to a first after seven years... it would be better than just squandering them on million to one shots that are destined to be cut

Williamson would be a fovored on that list. I don't know AJ's suspention details so if it is substance then I'd definately look but if it was domestic, then not with a 10ft pole. As for Jesse James, he would be the 2nd best TE on the roster but here again I'd wait til; after the draft on Jesse. I would look at Fisher or Big Al but not until after the draft.

who is this year's CMF?
(Cooch's Most Favorite, for those of you in the back)

someone unattainable probably

Somehow he will get two first round picks out of the CMF, if he trades him down the road.

That will be revealed after Walterfootball reviews the teams draft picks.

OR............................ Right after the draft....................................OR................................ Once draftee establishes himself as being worthy of the pick...!

They'll be more players cut later.. That's when the Steelers will get active. I believe that wave is after the draft.

the other side of that patriot coin is that they don't add much in the draft. Brady covered a lot of warts. That and cheating. Their big defensive playmaker Gilmore was signed as a free agent. They haven't drafted much talent.

Last year they drafted 2 TEs. This year they signed 2 TEs in free agency. Brady left because he saw their roster sucked and didn't want to go down with the ship.

It always gets praise of draftniks to trade back and gather draft picks and that can work out but in reality guys get picked in the 1st round for a reason. Some bust but most become at least decent starters and many become superstars.

This is definitely a buyers market. Lots of free agents taking 1 year deals for relatively low amounts. Lots of teams with cap issues and with that new TV deal it seems most free agents are content to just find a good team for 1 year then be free agents next year when there will be a lot more money

Could Conner be coming back on a cheap deal? Fournette just took $4 Mil for 1 year with TB.

These 1-year deal players are going to have o prove themselves in order to cash in next year. Its hard enough on a yearly basis yet alone if you happen to change teams. I think a side note on all this FA induced cap frenzy is that many more rookies will get a chance and possibly lower the FA demand further causing some of these 1-year deal guys to be expendable or harder to find the "cash" next year.
