Class all the way. A tribute to really a man's man. Franco deserved it all last night. A game similar to the Oakland game fifty years ago, cold, not much offense last minute of game two score to make a score of 13, was some night to remember. The fans going crazy as back then when we scored.

I know I'll get flamed for saying this, but the half time ceremony was kind of lame and not worthy of someones status in team lore like Franco. I get it all happened fast with him passing away and they probably had to shift gears quick, but Art just coming out and throwing out a few words and then running a video doesn't get it. They should have asked the NFL that considering the circumstances the halftime should be extended to 20 or 30 minutes and let a few of Franco's teammates speak a few words.

Maybe the league would have made an exception. If not, let Najee wear #32 for the first half then retire the number and Najee can come out in #22 after the half...that would have been EPIC. When it comes to media stuff this team is at the bottom of the league in creativity(no wonder they picked Canada as OC) They trot out Pompeani, Labriola, and other media dinosaurs while if you watch other team media they have slick production with young hosts and ex players(just watch the Raiders for example). The Steelers trot out Arthur Moats because he's the "safe choice" of ex players, and while I like Arthur you aren't going to get much out of him that isn't the party line. Listen to his you tube stuff, great player analysis, except Tomlin is NEVER the problem, NEVER wrong. Then they'll tell you they don't kiss up to get access. DK has specifically spoken on this subject...I call B.S. they all eat at that trough.

Ok Coolie call me names now, but you cant deny what I've said. Mainly that the ceremony was not good enough.

A great example of why this young man is a cornerstone of this teams future (🤞). Some young players just “get it” on AND off the field. Gestures like that tell me he’s a leader.

I don't know if anyone noticed Freiermuth at the 2 minute warning. Steelers staff was bringing out the heavy coats for the players on the field to keep them warm during the break. Muth just brushed the guy away - didn't need it.

Love everything he brings to the team - especially the attitude.

I thought it was lacking but then as you stated....time was an issue. And the sudden passing. I read later that the nfl network cut away for a commercial.
Classless on their part. The players have made the NFL what it is today. They could have paid tribute to one of the greats instead of worrying about sucking out the last $$$$ for the owners.

Muth wasn't even born when Franco played. Love it when young players know and appreciate the greatness of those that came before them.

Yes that too. There was talk from people on NFL network that the entire league should retire 32. That's how much of an impact Franco had on not only the Steelers but the league as he helped launch the first dynasty and by inertia propel the NFL to the top sport in the U.S. Yet they let their greed as usual come first. And again: my post wasn't a knock on the Steelers organization per se, but they have got to step up their media game and have better people to plan stuff like the Franco tribute.

There are many people that have gone through the NFL that are exceptional in many ways. Different ways. That doesn’t mean you retire a number across the board. Hold it the highest of regard sure.

I agree it’s classless, but corporations do not stop short for a dollar.
As I always say, the nfl is a multi billion dollar business and will give the nod to the advertisers first over tributes.

I talked to my parents yesterday and that's one of the first things my mom mentioned other than it looked really cold. She said the game was boring and the tribute was lame. She wanted to hear from his teammates, but it was over in a flash. She stopped watching by the third quarter and my dad had to come in and tell her they had won in the end.

I saw that too. Now I wonder if he didn't want to cover up the Franco patch.

It's possible that might have been part of it. I think it was mostly that Muuuth wasn't letting the elements in his head. He's old school.

Good point. I remember when I was a kid deer hunting, I could have gone back to the house and warmed up, but if I did, I would not want to go back out.

If Kraft would have asked for a longer halftime and to not cutaway I'll bet Goodell would not have hesitated.

After being negative about the tribute to Franco I must admit this was cool. And I give the team credit for this. I also have to say I didn't hear it during the game might have been I was away from TV at this moment, but this was great.

Ahem... methinks Muth stole my idea...
