He and I were very close, and have reconnected over the last few years. He lives in Estonia, because his wife is from there.
Chatting today, I just got this from him. I found it interesting. I was complaining about my new job that I can't stand.

It could be worse. You could be living here with Russia as your next door neighbor. Constant military drills with jets flying overhead and giant convoys of military trucks blocking your way to get to work. Refugees filling up all the schools so we have to have our kid in a village school and hour away from where we live. Just saying. GPS gets jambed from Russian interference. We are concerned of where we will go if invaded. Bomb shelters are a big ticket item here right now. Don't get me wrong. I am not afraid for myself. But, I am responsible for wife and kids and now grandkids here. I absolutely do not trust Russia nor does anyone here trust Russia. We are donating a hoverboard and other items to a team of people turning items into drones and other supplies needed by Ukraine. We hear so many very messed up stories. I can't complain about my situation too much. At least I have any family fighting on the front lines. Sorry, I didn't mean to turn so heavy. It's just in my face right now. I would love to go back to USA but somewhere not ghetto. Maybe somewhere away from any big city in the country.
