WOOOOOOHOOOOOOO! We're 7-0 baby!!! I'm LOVIN IT! Wow man I'm so JACKED UP I don't know where to start! I need a few minutes here to gather my thoughts......My head is spinning! What a great team effort all around....offense, defense & special teams. The past 2 weeks I kept hearing friends say....yeah you beat Cleveland but are they really good? Yeah you beat Tennessee but it's Ryan Tannehill & you should have beaten them.....let's see what happens when you play a real Defense. Well they are going to be eating a heaping helping of crow this week.....because we just beat the Ratbirds! This was a well earned win against one of the better teams in the NFL on the road in their house led by reigning league MVP Lamar Jackson. Spillaine with the pick six 3 plays into the game to give the Steelers a 7-0 lead before the Rats tied it at 7 after a terrible Late hit penalty call on Cam Heyward.....I don't see how the ref can throw a flag there when Jackson lowers his shoulder on the Safety who was trying to run him out of bounds it was a bad call. Defensively the Steelers Defense really played great today and I thought the Defensive game plan to keep Lamar Jackson in check was excellent....kudos to Tomlin & Butler as they kept Jackson bottle up much of the game only 68 yds rushing. It seemed like they had Dupree & Watt keying on Jackson on the RPO's and then letting our safeties & ILB's key on the RB's. There was one play where I saw Dupree bite and go for the RB and Jackson took it to the outside around Dupree for a big gain. It was really the only mistake I saw by our OLB's if that was the game plan and it sure looked like it. Dupree & Watt both had great games and did very good keeping Jackson in check and Dupree's strip/fumble of Jackson on their own 10yd line was HUGE!. The offense got off to a rough start and was much maligned the first half but they came out in the 2nd Half in a more spread offense and it created more opportunities downfield as Ben lit up the Rats secondary in the 2nd Half going 17 for 25 with 2 TD's. Some great individual efforts today on Defense as Robert Spillane & Stephon Tuitt really stood out much of the game....I thought Tuitt was a Game Wrecker today. Isiah Buggs made some nice plays down the stretch filling in for Tyson Alualu especially on that critical 4th down play he was able to get off his block and slow Lamar Jackson on that 4th down. Honestly if he doesn't make contact I think Jackson goes in for the TD....great effort by Buggs. Congrats go out to Alex Highsmith for making an nice INT on the Rats first drive of the 2nd Half.....he high pointed the pass and made the INT. I'm not going to criticize our Run D too much.....the Rats are a great running team and that RPO is very difficult to defend against not to mention we lost Tyson Alualu early in the first half. Steelers lost the Time of Possession battle today but won the game and created 3 costly turnovers early in the game for the Ravens that didn't just take points off their board but put points on ours. Steelers DB's really shut down the RATS WR's.....Hollywood Brown had 1 catch for 2 yds.....despite it being a TD. I'm on such a high right now. There were points in this game where I just thought maybe the Steelers schedule has caught up with them but this team rose to the challenge today on the road in Baltimore to come away with the win and remain undefeated at 7-0. Next up a road trip to Big D to face a badly injured Cowboys team.....I hope Tomlin and the Steelers don't suffer a letdown next week in Big D. The thought of them going 8-0 and coming back to the Burgh for 3 of the next 4 @ home will be a good time for our Steelers to get healthy as we move to the backhalf of this season's schedule.

How I feel right now!

As Per Tomlin's Post Game
Cam Heyward - Thinks it was a cramp first time he went down but not sure about the 2nd time he went down.....Coach T will update as he gets more information.
Dionte Johnson - Was able to return to the game after a Quad injury early
Tyson Alualu - Knee that is being evaluated

Game Balls:
Robert Spilllane - 10 tackles plus a Pick Six. He might not be Devin Bush but this kid has really stepped up BIG TIME on this Defense
Stephon Tuitt - He was a GAME WRECKER today 8 tackles, 2 sacks, 3 TFL......he really dominated most of the game.
TJ Watt - 4 tackles, 1 sack......he did an excellent job containing Jackson much of the game
Bud Dupree - 5 Tackles 1 sack, 1 Forced Fumble - Right along with Watt they did a great job of containing Jackson especially in the 2nd half
Ben Roethlisberger - 21 of 32 for 182 yds 2 TD's......after a rough first half he went 17 for 25 down the stretch.
Juju Smith Schuster - Way to step up in the 2nd half of the game 7 rec for 67 yds including some tough yards to extend drives.
Mike Tomlin & Keith Butler - Great game plan to keep Jackson bottled up most of the game....he only had 68 yds rushing

Game Goats:
Terrell Edmunds - 2 plays stick in my mind late in the game that he was way out of position to make a play on and gave up big plays on 3rd & long....one to Duvernay and the other Snead. He looked lost out there on the 3rd & 18 to Snead....he wasn't even close and it was his man

FU's:
FU to the officiating......some terrible calls today......the penalty on Heyward that led to the Rats first TD tying the score at 7. Jackson put his shoulder down and into the Safety who was trying to run him out of bounds....Bullshit Call!
FU to Crybaugh & The Rats......I just ******* HATE ALL YOU ********! **** YOU!

Spillane is quickly becoming one of my favorites. I'd like to see what the defense would look like with Spillane and Bush on the field together. I love Vince, but the guy is one dimensional. Great thumper inside, but that is all he has to offer.

that call on Heyward was terrible, Jackson was still inbounds and fighting for yards

not the worst officiating after that though

the halftime adjustments worked on both sides of the ball

Spillane played well, showed some speed chasing down the ratbird on one of their big plays

Game Balls: Linebackers, Tuitt, Juju, Buggs (once he decided to start playing) and the coaching staff
Goats: Run defense and the safeties at times getting sucked up and allowing WRs behind them
FUs: One really bad call by the refs and Harbaugh because he whines too much

Papillon

I was thinking Edmunds had turned the corner but today he seemed to revert back to his day late and dollar short ways.

I was thinking the same exact thing. Yikes.

Overall, the defense got steamrolled.

I mean, you have to acknowledge the 14 points they directly or indirectly accounted for and the stops at the end, but damn.

I'm a bit concerned by what we saw today, especially considering they struggled to stop the Titans in the second half last week.

game ball to whoever made the decision to go 5 wide and let Ben call the game from the line.

Also, the Ravens were playing press man coverage and the Steeler WRs were having problems getting open. The Steelers started running more bunch WR sets so the Ravens could not press and it created more room for the Steeler WRs. Game ball for that decision too.

I wouldnt say steamrolled. They Stopped the Ravens when the game was on the line. they got a pick 6. sacked lamar 4 times, won the turnover battle. losing Alualu was huge. he has been playing at a probowl level

Game balls,,,Spillane and Tuitt, Ben for coming out second half with a empty backfield that seemed to confuse the Ravens

Goats the secondary,, second 22..first down..3rd and 17 first down. Two TD's receivers wide open. third receiver was wide open out of bounds.. Terrible tackling and coverage.

FU's the second game in a row with very suspect officiating

The middle of our defense, Bush and Alualu is sidelined.

The defense is doing a good in limiting what Edmunds needs to do. Although Fitz is still very good, he's missing more tackles this year.

FU to the red that saw Peters head but your player and his *** was not ejected.

He did it twice. And these refs, just horrible.

I think Spillane is a lesser version of Vince.

Why does it seem they only do this when we fall behind? Or is it my imagination?

Originally thought the call on Heyward was a good one, but upon further review, Jackson was still in bounds. Barely.

Whomever made the decision to keep putting Watt back in coverage needs to stop doing that.

Great breakout game from Buggs. Looks like Spillane can cover tight ends pretty decently, I'm surprised by his speed.

I absolutely loved how they had Watts follow thru with tackling Jackson on EVERY RPO play. Just played to tackle Jackson every time. It was beautiful.
