FRIKKIN FINALLY! Wow we win a close one! I had that nauseating feeling late in the game that this one was gonna slip through our hands. Thank god for some good defensive play down the stretch by our front 7 especially Bud Dupree to force the Colts into a FG with over 1 minute remaining on the clock. Lucky for us Adam Vinatieri was channelling Mike Vandershank on that last FG as he hooked it way left giving our Steelers a 26-24 victory. Finally a win against a team with a winning record. For anyone still wondering if Minkah Fitzpatrick trade was worth it wonder no more! He is our best DB since Troy and it's not even close! So far Tomlin & the coaching staff seem to have this team headed in an upward & onward direction......I'll give credit to where credit is due.......going forward into next week the Steelers have a chance to get on the plus side of the .500% mark vs the Rams but for right now it just feels good to be at .500. This was a big divisional win for our Steelers vs a Colts team that will be contending for a playoff spot. Let's enjoy this one as we look ahead to the Rams coming to town next week. Got a little frustrated this game with some piss poor tackling today by Steven Nelson, Devin Bush & Terrell Edmunds trying to tackle the football instead of the ball carrier....you've gotta be better than you were today! Also Mason Rudolph needs to be a little more aware on the field when he's backed up in the shadow of his own endzone.....He sat there way too long....led to a safety.....could have been the difference in the game tonight but Villaneuva was able to secure the football in the endzone.

Injury updates per Coach T Post Game:
Trey Edmunds - Rib injury.....being evaluated
Switzer - Rib injury....being evaluated
Nix - re-injured his knee again.....same one he injured earlier this season

Game Balls:
Minkah Fitzpatrick - 96yd INT return for a TD....first NFL TD for Fitzpatrick. I'm so glad he's a Steeler
Chris Boswell - The Wizard of Boz had a great game today....game winning FG not to mention a clutch 51 yd FG to end the half.
Bud Dupree - One of his best games as a Steeler including a key stop on 3rd down on that final Colts drive. Also had 2 sacks and forced fumble on 4th down pass play
TJ Watt - He always seems to be on this list but it's because of the pressure he is constantly getting on the QB and he's always double teamed.
James Washington - 4 rec 69 yards but he made some great receptions downfield.....one in particular for a first down on a poorly thrown ball by Rudolph that should have been an INT....Washington hauled it in and made it look routine. It was anything but!
Cam Heyward - Missed wrapping up Hoyer for a sack but still had a great game overall including blocking the Colts XP attempt when the score was 16-10.

Game Goats:
Mike Tomlin/Randy Fictner - Not sure who deserves blame here but it's gotta be said that 2nd & Goal from the 1/2 yard line and you don't QB sneak it.....you turn and give it to Trey Edmunds who got swallowed up for a 3yd loss when you only need a 1/2 yard. Also Tomlin made some dumb challenges down the stretch of the game but he didn't challenge the play right before this where it appeared Samuels was across the goal line for the TD but they ruled him down at the 1/2 yard line. Replay showed that the nose of the football did break the goal line.

FU:
Adam Vinatieri - FU Adam.....I don't give a **** if your the most accurate kicker in NFL History. LACES OUT!

Embarrassing game plan.

They act like this is ******* rocket science and that Patrick Mahomes did not come out of nowhere and throw for 50 TD's and 5,000 yards last year as a 2nd year QB and NFL MVP.

The Arkansas State Brain Trust needs to pull their heads out of their collective *****. Today they were a missed FG away from throwing away our season because of their cowardice and brazen unmatched stupidity.

We could be one game out of first place in the division if the favorites win out this weekend. Despite the start and injuries we had. Time to take the ******* training wheels off, You are not in Jonesboro anymore and this ain't Red Wolf Football.

I have no idea what our game plans are on O. The calls are so damn inconsistent. And, as usual, Tomlin goes conservative with almost 4 minutes to play and runs up the middle twice and leaves Rudolph with 3rd and long when you know the D will be blitzing. If he ever says he doesn't play in his fears, someone needs to smack him in the ******* head because he plays there constantly. He has done this for years and it has cost us games and almost cost us this one. Go for the ******* jugular. One or two first downs would have ended the damn game. You don't run up the middle twice when your team hasn't been able to run all year! Dumb! Dumb! Dumb!

Game ball to Fitzpatrick . Goat Tomlin as well as Fictner, Go backwards second and goal hand off deep in backfield and go backwards and settle for three. Could give a half goat for the terrible tackling that continues to bit this defense in the butt, make a good play and give up third and long. It truly is hard to get what we will see on the field. The second half was playing not to win but to not lose. I saw little excitement as the team was against the winless Dolphins Monday. I still bleed and bleed deep but this game is why so many Steeler fans take high blood pressure medicine. Best part was listening Fout's praise to the high heavens Vinatieri and see the ball go way left. Make up for some serious what is pass interference or not calls . We had them all the way.

Defense played well overall, but it frustrates me that they play soft on 3rd and long (until midway through the 4th when they started to bring the heat), get it to 4th and less than 4, and let them convert.

Fichtner had a real bad game. I think Tomlin was just gonna keep throwing red flags as a joke, which that PI call was. If not for missed FG the refs would have yet again played THE part in the final outcome of the game.

And finally, when will someone on that team realize that when Barron is on the field-and don’t give me any “he’s good in coverage” ****-the defense is not as good as when he is on the sideline. He is TERRIBLE. Totally useless.

Glad for the win but the offense put 9 points on the board and gave up a safety for a net of 7. The defense got 10 points straight up and gave the offense a short field for the second TD.

Holy ****. I was told in the game thread our def ******* blows over and over and over. Seems to me, this guy, this guy right here. He can add. I like him.

As someone said in another thread, Mason got shell shocked on that INT in the 1st. Was really relying on the check downs because he didn’t want to risk another pick. Besides the McD TD Samuels was his primary target. Mason missed a lot of chances with DJ and JuJu especially with crossing routes as both were open on screens to Samuels. The play calls on med/long passes were there, Mason wasn’t seeing them. Until we see the 22 film, we can’t see all of the streak patterns passed up. Washington caught pretty much everything thrown at him and bailed Mason out on a couple. The safety was all on him as he lost awareness and didn’t toss it away. Kid is young and he is learning, it’s easy to be spoiled by having Ben as long as he had. But MR has the ability to be a solid QB. Clean up some of his technique and he will be solid.

We should have, and would have been blow out if not for our def. the OC and or MR did the bare minimum to try and win. Again, I love the check down. But **** sake, you gotta do down field. What did they do come 2nd half. Cough cough tomlin ...adjust. And could do ****. Stacked the line and we did the same rb plays and check downs.

**** it. We one. On to the next and hopefully we get a little healthier on the way

Goats: Colts. Did their best to throw the game away.
FU: We still don't know what constitutes pass interference.

Alejandro didn't have a good game but no way would I every call him a game goat

Bud is playing his best ball.

you are right. the refs don't know, players, fans, no body knows what it is from week to week. hard to believe such a huge game change penalty is so confusing

What about a game ball to the Colts holder who couldn't get the ball turned around? Otherwise the defense would have blown another 4th qtr lead.

Who cares?

It means Defense is getting better to hold up the obviously weaker O (without key players)

God ppl ***** about everything

I’m thinking we give it to the Colts defender (forgot his name) that gifted us three points at the half.

FU to Bud Dupree. For celebrating like an *** on the last play right before Vinitari came in to kick the supposed winning field goal.

You mean the Def that scored almost as much as the Offense? Try again

No way. He was one of the best players on the field today and that stop was huge.

It wasn't that huge it was third down and the kick everyone knew was coming was the next play,, I know he had a lot of pressures/ sacks today. Kudos for that. But he still gets a FU from me for acting like coach when he thinks hes right.

Seriously. FU NFL refs. Don’t know what a catch is, don’t know what PI is, let some teams QBs get *** raped no flag, breath on others **** give them points. So tired of this bs. Stupid ******* nfl replay. How is it they can’t get **** correct but NHL seems to have it down and can get it done within 1-2min.

They won in spite of the coaches with some pretty good fortune. Tomlin's use of challenges in relation to the time was beyond unbelievable. MAYBE the overthrow. That might have been worth the try, but to throw any chance you have on offense basically out the window and put it all on a call you cannot win. C'mon. If TJ Watt was injured on the last series OK I can live with that, but otherwise if you just throw in Chickillo because....... C'mon. Same with the point they threw in the from nowhere running back. WHY? This is not the preseason. And Danny Smith.... Don't even get me started. Yeah keep kicking it down to the seven so they can bring it on a dead run. And why the **** would anyone think Switzer is the best option on returns. I think that pretty much shows everything there.
