It's Too Cold To Murder Anybody In NYC
The NYPD says the city is currently enjoying its longest murder-free stretch in recent history—probably because it's so damn cold that murderers aren't about to do their intended victims any favors. Why not let them suffer through this nasty weather and then resume killing once it's nice out again?
It's been 11 days without a homicide in NYC, which police say is the longest stretch since the department starting tracking murder gap stats with computers in 1994. “Weather is definitely a factor,” one police source confidently tells the NY Post, which reports that the most recent murder was the result of a Harlem shooting the night of the Super Bowl.
