Aaron Smith, the absolutely BEST “grunt” to ever wear the B & G uniform. He was the consummate team mate / player / role provider / man. This is a great article of his Professional life as a STEELERS player. Good read

The article is absolutely right in saying we need another great DL to pair with Cam.

I hope we get DL that sticks and can play.

We will not see a “SMITH” clone but it would be nice to get someone close.

Love me some 91!
Cam had a perfect partner....but mental health got in the way.

True, but even then he was injured more than normal. Tuitt seemed to have trouble staying on the field of play.

Regardless, even in the twilight years of Cam, even today, he is producing at a high level that could be extended a year or two if we could get that “SMITH” like player across a from him.

I read your title and thought “ who the heck died now” then saw Aaron Smith as your first word. Man.
😳

Sorry MAN, not intended that way at all but you get my point. Read the article, it's good.

Paired with Keisel you had two guys who wrecked the run and though didn't generally blow past the oline had unending motors like Watt.
Would have been interesting if they let Smith loose. I think Keisel's abilities were perfect for our defensive ends, eat up blocker, let the line backers feast and don't let them get around you.
Smith on the other hand could have put up some serious sack numbers if those weren't his primary responsibilities.

Sometimes wonder how he is doing and if he has regrets about his retirement.

I don’t think he does, he is probably enjoying family and his body is healing. The healthier he gets the more right his mind will become.
