The issue was that Tuitt showed potential to be an all pro type DT, and they made a choice... only to have Tuitt retire early due to the catastrophic death of his brother..

Hargrave had a season ending injury in week 3, so he didn't fall off this year. The fact he is returning from a significant injury does validate your idea of signing him to a one year deal if they were to look at him.
