This came from the Home Page here and is a good read.

Glad to see he kept involved over the healing process. Attended meetings ect.. I'm excited to see if anything translates to the field of play. It would be nice to know what we've got before the draft, but I'm sure the coaches have monitored his progress as well and know pretty much what they've got.

Had a good feeling about his speed but seems like the little dudes can’t even make it out of camp

I hope he blows up in 2023!but how are you impressed by yourself?

I can honestly say I'm at least as excited to see what CA III does when he finally hits the field next season as I was for Kenny and Pickens last season. Just the fact that Sauce Gardner said he was the toughest receiver he had to cover in college speaks volumes.

Excellent point. Forgot about Gardner's comment. Dude is one of the best CB's to come out of college since Revis so for him to say this means a lot.

I don't doubt his ability at all. I think back to a talented CB that never saw the field. I just think you have to pretend he won't be available and healthy when addressing the position. Then if he does show otherwise the position is just solidified.

If the sauce man says its true...it's true. He should run for office.

That’s a dang good endorsement from Gardner, I do hope it translates to the field of play.

Things change from college to NFL fields, durability being one of them. Calvin 3 didn’t make a single game so he has to prove his durability, can he be on the field of play and for how long. Obviously I hope the season(s) and high energy play.

These midgets are always a question mark until they prove otherwise. Size is a HUIGE part of the sport but rules have made and continue to do so, make it easier for offensive skill players.

Here’s to his 2,800 yard 21 TD season, obviously.

EDIT: Don’t get me wrong, I’m totally rooting for the kid and want great success for him and our beloved STEELERS.

That's a safe way to approach the situation but if by early April CA3 is running at full speed, with sharp cuts, and looks like the guy from Memphis in 2021, then slot receiver has to be a much lower area of need.

CA3 did look good in OTA's and camp before getting injured. We've seen before where injuries as a rookie have totally derailed careers in Pittsburgh. Let's hope he stays healthy this year and gets a real chance to show what he was doing last year before his injury. We could really use someone like him on the team.

should have taken Tariq Woolen, chosen by the Seahawks 15 slots later.

We need another properly formed thread about CA3 not being used properly

We have the "template" as in the Dri Archer thread......................................................

Agreed they need one more but it might be Miller as opposed to a high pick and let's not take another little guy in the kid from Houston.

I think Cal 3 will make it so we don’t draft another “small” WR this year. I hope by draft, they know what’s he is and don’t think there is a gamble there.

Trench, ILB is pretty weak right now as well. Those are who we need to target in draft or FA. The FA acquisition will narrow are draft focus.

Very strongly agree. Three what I would call premium picks. Fix what wins football games.

sure skip over a player with his talent because he is a little small. He showed at the senior bowl he has the skills to compete at the next level

CA is fast but watching his games I don't see the elusiveness Dell brings to the field

You want to fix what wins games, well flipping the field with good punt returns wins games. Dell catches the ball and is moving, but only he knows in which direction

the draft analysis I posted today from the NFL site gives him a 2nd round grade, I don't know that with the Steelers needs that I would take him there, but I would definitely take him in the 3rd. If he is clearly BPA in the 2nd, I would be hard pressed to pass also

I want starters in the second round not gimmick players. He is 23 and weighs 165 pounds. That is his frame. I'm not saying he couldn't put on 10 to 175. But he is 23 its not his frame. We got one of those guys we drafted last year that we haven't seen play. If they hadn't drafted Austin maybe in the third. Maybe. This team has so many bigger needs than a 165 lb receiver sorry. Hard pass.
