It appears this guy may get the 5th spot. Not sure why. I was rewatching the Bills game and I have mixed feelings on him. Positives is that he’s a tough SOB and doesn’t mind doing the dirty work on the underneath routes.
He lacks separation against better defenders. I noticed when he was in with Mitch, he had trouble shaking off his coverage.
They continue to use him on jet sweeps where he lacks the explosiveness to get to the perimeter.
His return skills are eh. Not what he used to be when he was an all pro with the Patriots.
I guess in short, he’s the 2023 version of Ryan Switzer

Some guys all things equal make it on effort and attitude. Boykin hasn't caught a ball and likely is 6th.

Switzer set a NEW Low in yards gained per tough (I think that was the category) , do we really need that guy again ???

Maybe we aren't quite as deep at WR as some here think.

I think Gunner has enough flexibility and utility position to probably make the team. If we keep 6 then I feel it is between White and Boykin. Neither really excite me and I feel we can probably stash either on the practice squad. But Danny Smith probably gets a token player so Boykin makes the 53 man.

Their top 4 is pretty much as good as they could do this off season. Thin after 4.

He probably does make the roster. Not a fan but he can play ST, but so does Boykin.

Boykin might be a 5th keep. As he plays a key position on special teams.

Gunner got 51 snaps last game…. They are using him a lot… i really think he is safer than we hoped…

Maybe or they were just zooming in trying to figure out if they wanted to give him that last spot. As they could be on the fence about it..

Looks like two players are being signed, perhaps they are still looking at return options.

I feel like Gunner is a better receiver but Boykin is a gunner on punt. Kickoff cover and return is over. There are only 2 SP teams now. I'm pretty sure they can find a gunner on punt cover.

An expensive option for the little he brings to the table

I would’ve fired him as soon as I found out he’s still playing for those cheating massholes last year…can’t believe he’s still wasting a roster spot

Maybe but that person has to show upgrade as a gunner. As Boykin is a cheap option.

Ammunition-LESS

Hard to keep a Gunner when they can’t fire the bullets———————_ _ _ _

If I remember correctly he closed his eyes while the trying the catch a punt vs the Pats*****. Effectively muffing it and turning that ball over.

Some people don't forget ****...;)

Gunner has been getting a lot of targets in camp and the preseason so far. I'm not a fan based on how bad he was last year but the Steelers seem to like him. I doubt he goes anywhere and he will get more snaps than he should just like he did last year.
