Haden for depth?

Agreed, I hope they get serious about considering to negotiate with DJ, if he has a good year the tag is 20 million, everything is the jags fault for giving Kirk 18 mill as a unproven WR, as soon as terry started to negotiate we should of. DJ is a 1 WR and on the depth chart nethier Chase, Pickems or Austin are 1 WR the first 2 as good to be #2 and Austin a perfect 3-4.
but at this stage is Haden better than Wallace who is slated to be slot Wr than dime CB down to Pierre Layne and the slot guy they used last year all guys haden is better than, its up to him reserve back up role on his body that has a ton of mileage and is starting to breakdown.

I don’t think that is true yet… some older players hold out till camp injuries hit so they have a path to a starter role. Not every one is willing to take low dollar deals to stay in the league as a bit player

Well the Steelers had DB needs. They could have signed him to play an inside position. I really Like 23. But I think his days of being an outside starting Corner are over. Maybe not his playing days but....

That's the thing if Haden sees himself as an outside corner still, it is obvious the Steelers don't see him as a starter there. Maybe before training camp if someone doesn't snatch him up Haden starts thinking differently...

I think you are correct here. A lot of "elite" athletes over value themselves towards the end of their careers. Yes they have the knowledge but their motor skills have decreased.
