Hahaha, Tomlin asked why the same problems persist or haven't been fixed.

His answer was because those same ingredients produced 6 wins too, depends how we cook. 3 of those 6 wins came from 13 turnovers in two games and another win was because the Jets Db's couldn't catch and Boz hit a 60 yarder to win it.

The owner is paying this con man 16 million per season and his answer “ it depends on how we cook”.
WTF are we doing here?
You know what the problem really is here with this team. Tomlin is the chief architect and the structure is collapsing around him and he does not know how to fix it,
His philosophy of let’s get em in a rock fight and we’ll win with conservative offense and my defense will hold em.
Guess what genius, it ain’t working! Your offense sucks and your defense sucks and they both rank near the bottom of the league and you’re the chief architect.
You will never, ever be the coach Chuck Noll and Bill Cowher were.

The problem is, he and i think Rooney too believe that, they've won 6 games this way and are tied for first, they don't see they needed 6 turnovers in a couple games to barely win them, they're giving up record setting #'s, Love completed 20 straight passes, Bills rushed for the most yards in Pittsburgh in 50 years, we're dead last in time of possession, etc. etc.

Yes Coryea, that Jet game is a loss if Boz doesn’t bail them out with that 60 yard FG.
The Pats game needed a fumble on the Steeler goal line and an int in the Steeler end zone from our ten yard line to in that game.
The Colts game needed six ******* turnovers to win that game.
You can see it from his defense with their first instinct to swipe at the ball rather than make sound tackles. That’s coaching and it’s a direct reflection on what he teaches and what he relies on.
The turnovers when they happen are great but they cannot be your recipe for winning football games.
Sound tackling, blitzing the QB, not playing too far off the receivers, covering the middle of the field.
Getting off the field after 3rd downs. Disguised and exotic blitzes.
Tomlin coaches none of this. His idea is playing two DL. ******* fraud!

Noll, and Cowher, for different reasons, knew it was time to move on. Tomlin's ego won't permit it and Deuce doesn't have the balls to do it.
Cowher won more playoff games in his last three seasons than Tomlin has in the last 15 years.

Something to also remember here is that Cowher really had no QB until he got Ben then it was two AFCCG appearances and a SB win in the first two seasons Bill had Ben.
Bill Cowher got to two other AFCCG with Neil O’Donnel and a SB with Neil.
Billy also got to an AFCCG with Kordell Stewart.
Absolutely zero comparison between Cowher and the con man.

At one point his defenses went around 32 games without allowing a 100 yard rusher. And when they did? They were pissed.

That defend every blade of grass **** was real, so was their commitment to excellence and not being a weak link on the field.

Hell the other players would have told you to get off the field.

I remember when Cowher left, half this board was pissing on him about his 8-8 season. I always felt that if he could have stayed a few more years we would have won 9 or 10 SBs. I would give my left nut to have that man back coaching this team because we are going to need someone just like him to fix this **** show.

Tomlin's Ego is larger than the team... he will never say his way isnt working... if changes are made, he will always go back to it in critical times... its not about winning, its about winning his way
Shades is a proud and stubborn man.
Clearly he doesn't like losing but he's too stubborn to change what he does.
Cowher was also but he had the sense to change some things offensively (and got a good QB) and finally won The Big One.
Not that Chin was always great, he hired Ray Sherman and Kevin Gilbride as OC's and those two make Matt Canaduh look smart.
I will cut Chin a little slack since his time was at the peak of the Cheatriots and Spygate although it still pisses me off that neither Chin or Shades will admit to the Pats****** cheating despite all the evidence.
Always remember that when the Steelers were getting to 3 Super Bowls in 6 years they never had to face the Pats****** in the playoffs.
We know for a fact that the Giants with Eli Freaking Manning beat the Pats****** TWICE in the Super Bowl because Tom Coughlin was smart enough to change his defensive signals just for that game so Belicheat's and Ernie Adams' videos were useless.

He actually got to two AFCCG's with Kordell, won a playoff game with 5 different QB's, can any other coach say that? Yet guys like Marcus Spears, Arthur Moats, Ryan Clark say Tomlin shouldn't be expected to win a playoff game with the QB's he's had.

That’s right he did get to two with Kordell. Thanks!

Our offense under Gilbride ranked 17th in points scored, our offense under Canada ranked 22nd. The Chin wasn't gift wrapped a Super Bowl winning roster with one of the best D coordinators in NFL history and a Franchise QB, he actually had to build one. 1995 AFCCG, we threw the ball 52 times and weren't trailing until 10 minutes left in the game, people just like to jump on the Martyball bandwagon, but Cowher changed things up often. 2001 AFCCG, we got there by running the ball, we threw the ball 28 times to only 8 runs in the first half, so went away from what was expected of us. It wasn't just the 05 playoffs, we just finally had a QB that could do it.

The night he won the SB there were posters here who wanted him fired.

We learned why Buddy Ryan punched Gilbride on the sideline though. Great Moments In Sports. 😄

Oh yeah, not saying he was great lol, but his offense ranked higher than Canada's, but Canada's offense never produced such a low total of 166 yards like we did Sunday.

The worse things get the more Shades lives in his fears.

I think Tomlin believes that if he has to make adjustments to his scheme, it shows that his scheme is wrong. And that isn't what a very-long tenured coach (with an ego) wants to get out. It also fits with every new OC running the same basic offense as the last. As mentioned, it's Tomlin's way and 'we do what we do' regardless of the opponent and their strengths or weaknesses. With Chicago's replacement LBs the natural thing would be to exploit the middle of the field, but that's not 'the way we do it'. Same with Sunday's game - don't change the defensive scheme even though they run the same successful play 29 times.

That's probably 100% correct, but ridiculous as well, I coach varsity soccer and we were in the playoffs, won our 1st game 3-0, only gave up 2 shots on goal, the next game we played one of the top teams in the state, I changed my formation, moved personnel, and tactically changed how we played. We lost 1-0 in double OT, but had we stayed with what we did to win our first game 3-0, we would've lost at least 6-0. Yeah I know comparing high school soccer to NFL, but the point is not sure how a coach can't see when something won't work and wouldn't want to give your team the best chance to win.
