If his head isn't in the game, at least he's out there trying to get right. Unlike the Pro-Bowl DE/DT they're paying to sit at home.

Wondering about this kid who was so successful of a punter in college how you just forget how to punt. Its not like a position player who plays great in college but can't cut it in the NFL like so many have, but a punter. Isn't it pretty much the same no matter where you punt? The guy had a tremendous leg in college so why would he not be able to do the same in the NFL? This kid has been going through adversity with his father and that I think has been affecting him. We as fans should cut him some slack. I'll pray for his pop.
Any bad thoughts I had about Persey on Sunday, i apologize. You just don't know what they have going on in their personal life.

I get that but not like he has to take anyone on one on one. Kicking the football even if slightly different shouldn't be that much of a transition from college.
I'd rather Harvin go the Tuitt route, honestly. If Tuitt knew he was only going to hurt the team then he made the right call.
Harvin isn't helping the team, he should maybe focus on himself and his family.

I read this morning. I'm sorry his dad is terminally ill and I suppose if fans knew the situation on Sunday they might have backed off but they didn't. And he was terrible. He has the most closed skill in the sport. Receive the snap and get off a reasonable to very good punt in the time you have. He has been wildly inconsistent. It was a bad choice that I supported after pre season.
As far as Tuitt goes my sympathy well is dry. Middle class and low income people lose a kid and go back to work to support the rest of their family. He took millions this year to not play. The league needs to come up with a mental health protocol so that teams can support players and honor their commitments without getting screwed.

Very sad to hear about his family, but I'm glad they got to Pittsburgh for a game. There had to be a lot of pressure on him on Sunday in more ways than one. Punter is always an easy target to pick on, but the Steelers starting center is performing worse than Harvin and they continue to start him. I think Tomlin sees big time potential in Harvin and he just needs to adjust to the NFL game. There are punters who've struggled early before turning into quality players after a year or two.
Wishing the best for his family. Perhaps his performance is because he is distracted by everyone calling him Percy.

Huh? He simply asked if anybody's seen Tuitt on the sidelines of any game this year. I'm sympathetic to Tuitt because I heard he and his brother were very close and the way he died was tragic, but it's also been well over 6 months and I'd think part of healing & moving on is the bonding with the brothers you have left. I don't think it's being a piece of trash to question why he hasn't at least been on the sidelines getting his feel for the comradery again. Is that seriously too much to ask - and classless to boot?

I think he just needs to hit it. Not asking for the pins inside the 10 we were expecting. Just hit it. I'd say they kept him because Boz has been all but perfect and they are not going to **** with the hold. But for now just a smooth contact strike. It can be a touch back I don't care. But a high schooler can do that.

There was a decided difference between how he looked last game and the other parts of the year. He has been flat out up and down all year. But the last game was something different. I wish the best for him and his family and hope he comes out the other side ok.

This line is very clearly admonishing Tuitt for not being with the team, then he tops it off with "has anyone even seen this guy??"
The tone being, "this guy is making millions because the organization decided to take care of him and it makes me upset that he's accepting that branch rather than being a part of the team so I can feel like he's earned his paycheck. What is he even doing?" The ****** fan idea that these aren't people, they're an object for my entertainment. Kinda in the same vein as expecting unyielding organizational loyalty to the detriment of oneself. Just zero empathetic ability being shown here.
You can do your mental gymnastics on Buckeye's behalf and rationalize it any way you want. We have no intimate knowledge of Tuitt's family/situation and it is a fact that people handle things differently. "It's been well over 6 months"--Are you kidding? Who are any of us to decide anyone's grief timetable.
