Here's another thing that I keep hearing, but not quite understanding.

I keep hearing the Steelers are coming off a great defensive effort/game. We gave up 359 yards which is above our per game average that ranked us 26th in the NFL, and gave up 24 points, that would rank us 20th in the NFL. Is it because Henry didn't get 200 yards rushing?
 
Lamar threw two long TD passes to Zay Flowers.
The middle of the field for the Ravens was wide open for Lamar which has been a problem for the Steelers all year.
A great defensive effort it was not.
Henry started out great but tailed off and that’s credit to the defense but this pass defense is not good.
 
Overall was fairly happy with the effort, except for the two long passes late in the game.
Take away those two plays, which total approximately 115 yards and 14 points, and you got a pretty good defensive effort against the ravens Sunday night
However, those two plays did happen, unfortunately. So it could’ve easily been considered a losing defensive effort for the game.

Henry averaged 5.0 ypc still after that first drive, they just stopped giving him the ball.

The defense has been elite the last three games during the third quarter. Why can't they play closer to that level for most of the game?

Let’s not stop there. The Offense once again never scored a TD in the first half. Just like the Cleveland game. But shockingly enough…..they were only down by one score…..just like the previous game. Which was why you simply had to take the 3 points at the end of the half.

Yes, Steelers-Ravens is always a tight game. Points matter and the one time we needed Tomlin to act like Mike Tomlin, he pulled a Dan Campbell. Thankfully it all worked out in the end.

If that translates to he pulled some stupid then yes.

So against a good run D you go for it in 4th and short on your side of the field risking giving them getting a short field to operate. Then on another brilliant play with few seconds left before the half instead of throwing it into the end zone or kicking a field goal they decide a running play against that same good run D is the option to take. Rrrr they never will expect that.

Not to be outdone we have the secondary just allowing bombs away to take place….

Memo to Steelers let’s not gift wrap any points in this one please. All three coaches take a nice hot shower and try to wash some of that stupid off.

Also perhaps spend just a little extra time to see what needs tweaking in that secondary..

Well Big Ben seems to like our D too.

His opinion on the upcoming Texans game:

"The reason why I'm leaning heavily towards the Steelers winning this game is because I trust our defense against their offense," Roethlisberger explained.

100% on this and can’t come up with a reasonable as why he chose these option.

I can only find the one word———- Bravado———. Our coach likes the bravado and was hoping to have that type of outcome.

Even I, a non-paid genius knew those calls were not the right ones.

Maybe that “shower” may help. But sometimes it takes a complete blow-out to make a change……………

Add in also the yards in their last drive where they missed the FG....we technically blew them out instead of getting lucky that they missed the FG. :unsure:
 
I don't think the first Flowers to is on the coaches. He should have been sacked. The second one was. They sell out on Henry on 3rd and 1. 4th and 1, yeah. But you gotta be ready for anything knowing the Ravens were gonna go on 4th.
 
All will be made clear on Monday night as to who the best defense is.

My guess would be Houston. Isn’t it you are what you put out on tape? And on tape that D has had off and on issues all season.
