Hines did not make the final cut. Andre Johnson , Tory Holt and Reggie Wayne did. The HOF recipients will be announced January 18.!

when they change the rules because of how hard you LEGALLY play you should be a first ballet HOFer. ******* popularity contest anymore and the steelers aint to popular with the voting *****.

Great player, great smile, Super Bowl MVP, #14 on the all-time receptions list with 1000. He deserves to be in the Hall of Fame.

Yep. But he was different, with his blocking for example, which probably gives the voters pause. I think his different is what should put him in.

Torrey Holt and Reggie Wayne were great but they didn’t impact the game like Hines. The nfl is laughable
If Ward played in the 70's he would've been in because they actually valued players who were productive, who were productive in the playoffs and Super Bowls, and those who were part of the story of the game of football. I look at half of the finalist list and can't think of any impactful plays they made. I know they all did, but Hines was everything about physical football from an offensive position for a decade.

Andre Johnson is pretty obvious, as he was widely regarded as the best in the league for awhile.

Not really sure Wayne and Holt are any more deserving than Ward, though, especially considering the offenses each of them played in.

What would prime Hines Ward have done in some of those Rams and Colts offenses?

Complete BS and popularity contest now with the HOF. Hines should be in already. He has better stats than many already in the HOF AND, he changed how the WR position was played. He was and still is the best blocking WR in the game. How that continues to be overlooked is mind-boggling. Game changers, which Hines was, is the definition of a HOFer.

Don't think for a moent that the mantra "to many STEELERS all ready in" doesn't play a part in it as well. The STEELERS have been mocked on this fact for years and even more prevailant in today's world.

Salute the nation

Besides being towards the higher end of all time WR statistics for his career, Hines Ward is top 5 or top 10 ALL TIME in major receiving categories for the NFL playoffs… tied for 5th in playoff receptions (88), 8th for playoff receiving yards (1,181) and tied for 4th in playoff receiving TD’s (10). Those statistics, along with 3 SB appearances, 2 titles and a SB MVP on his resume, he made his biggest impact when it mattered most!!! He is ahead of several HOF’ers in all time and playoff statistics. And when you consider his well documented blocking contributions, on a run dominant team for majority of his career, along with his stats, Hines Ward has earned his way into the HOF for his collective career.

Some of the guys have been waiting. It helps to be clean off the field. Ward should get in eventually.

There is definitely some guys on the list that deserve to be considered HOF. Zach Thomas instead of Hines, mind boggling. Patrick Willis who was a great linebacker for a short time.

Richard Sherman, very good DL who Belichek figured he could get rid of before the fight with his agent. Sherman was good but come on.

I got a big problem with Devin Hester over Ward. C'mon.
A receiver who changed the rules of the game. That’s impact.

In a run heavy offense with the likes of Kordell and Kent Graham at QB. Still putting up numbers.

There is no love

I think someone must have been celebrating exhuberantly with some holiday cheer before posting ........ Happy New Year K Stilley

Perhaps he will go with Ben in 5-7 years. Put PIT in HOF game again and SteelerNation will come out in droves.

Hines was jipped, screwed, sheistered, bamboozled.
