Most of the year the offense looks completely discombobulated. Zero chemistry between Ben and AB. Those two should be able to kill it with there eyes closed. You work with the guy in your organization for how many years and he knows the strengths of every single player. This is what you get. The ****** Rats were in front of the chains almost every series, Steelers grasped from the opening kickoff.

We have repeatedly seen the same issues on offense with 2 separate coordinators. The affinity for the bubble screen has never changed. I am starting to believe that the game plan and play book is as much a product of Tomlin as it is anyone else. He is the one constant on both sides of the ball and it seems to be his fingerprint on both the offense and defense.

I think Tomlin’s hands are all over this thing, offense and defense.

None of our coaches are playing chess out there. Everything hinges on whether our players can win their matchups. When the line is beating up guys and AB is jumping over defenders making circus catches, our offense is amazing. But we’re not scheming guys open downfield. Our coaches don’t even think the same way guys like McVay do trying to hit on cheap scores and yards throughout the game because of clever play design. Everything we do is labored and relies upon superior talent. So when people aren’t winning their matchups, or Ben is inaccurate, everything falls apart.

It was the same under Haley and that aspect hasn’t changed.

Man I would give anything to have a young, QB with an arm like a Goff.
No we had to settle for the very, very limited Roethelisberger. Because of his arrogance refuses to learn from HIS mistakes and as a result we pay for it.

Fixed that for you.

Not that far off, huh? lol

Life After Ben is coming. Just wait. . . this place will really be entertaining then.

As a fan base we are traumatized from the period between Terry and Ben. We need to stop acting like it’s impossible that we can find a capable QB once Ben is retired. It’s not that I want that time to come, I am just tired of this narrative that we’re going to helpless punchless losers once Ben is gone. Just because we had a hard time finding a QB for 20 years before doesn’t mean we will again. Hell we could find the right guy in this year’s draft. Hell we have two guys on the roster right NOW that could be the right guy. Let’s stop acting like life after Ben is some kind of apocalyptic scenario. Teams are emerging with young QBs every single season

You can think those franchise Qbs fall in your lap, but in reality

they don't.

I see what happens when Ben's Wrs go elsewhere.

And with a team so dependent on Big Ben to win.

It is sort of silly to think this team won't be struggling for some time.

One thing is for sure if we keep Tomlin it will always be a not end like you want scenario. Ben or no Ben.

Why we did not look for a offensive man with a pedigree is beyond me especially with the talent everyone says we have.

I'd be happy with any coach with pedigree at this point - offensive or defensive. All we've had the last 10 years is an arrogant **** for brains that refuses to hire anyone that has an original idea of his own. The only part of Tomlins game that has grown since he became a HC is he comes up with a new cliche now and then. We've completely wasted the last decade because he can't put a semblance of a defense together. That shouldn't be a surprise; he couldn't do that anywhere he coached before.

I still think the alarm should have gone off early when we would win ugly games and he would proclaim you don't get extra style points for winning by playing error free football . Great teams strive for perfection and are never satisfied.

Cool shades doesn't make any major hiring/firing decisions, that's the Rooneys.

Amazing how people thought Haley sucked. We improved a grip under him and he did keep Ben upright

I think most of us thought we would see some common sense stuff happen. Like bringing back the qb sneak (which has happened), more no huddle, less bubble screens, less running plays on 2nd and 20.
Where the he'll is the no huddle? Maybe I'm not paying attention but I don't remember seeing much of it, after hearing we would.

Right if Haley wasn’t so stubborn about QB sneaks and bubble screens and other head scratching one off plays, he would still be here. He was a great OC except for those bizarre calls that defied common sense and stubborn dedication to his way

I have no evidence but I find it difficult to believe an NFL head coach in his 12th season does not have a great deal of say who his assistant coaches are.

Quit bagging on Bubby Brister. Wasn't used properly.

I think with the advent of “video game football” and the rule changes you dont need a hundred million dollar qb. You need to block tackle, run and catch the ball. That’s it, at the end of the day, it’s just football... the team that doesn’t make a lot of mistakes, penalties, fumbles, picks, the team that puts pressure on the qb, doesn’t leave gaping holes open on defense, tackles cleanly, in the end wins. Trade ben, bell, brown, bring in guys that work hard year around, balance the payroll across the team instead on of a couple “stars”, hire coaches that consentrate on the fundamentals and drive changes in the game rather that just follow along copying what others do... if steelers hope to compete in the future they with have to think about these things.
