Hoyer got Bored with the Steelers

**** anyone named Brian

You do realize he was on our roster for some time, correct? It's not like he hasn't seen our defense or he doesn't know Coach LeBeau's tendencies either. The kid played a heck of a game and we did not. Period.

Not trying to be a d*ckhead; but, we aren't the same Steeler's from the 70's or 2000's...it doesn't help that we don't have 3 starters missing from our defense either...

Hoyer just executed. Shanahan tore us up.

you know that is going to bite him in the *** -- being TOO SMUG will lead to his demise ..

The Clowns were missing a lot of players as well. Plus they didn't start with as much talent. They lost their best WR (Gordon) before the year started. They lost their center during the game. Their starting QB is a journeyman QB trying to hold off their #1 round pick. They don't have a great RB.

Add all that to the fact that they have a 1st year HC that is coming into a clusterfuck of a situation. But yea, the Steelers are missing 3 defensive players. 1 that is a rookie and wasn't playing great anyway, 1 that was a 1st round pick but has done nothing, and 1 a slashing NT that doesn't fit the standard 3-4 system and a guy most want gone.

I make no excuses for the Steeler's performance, missing 3 starters on defense or not...

Like Tim stated, the Browns executed (even if the journeyman QB had knowledge of our defensive schemes). We, on the other hand, shat the bed on all fronts of the game...

You mean the 3 starters that were on the field in the opener when Hoyer ripped them in the 2nd half? Starters, backups, they all suck.

True........

That's not an overall assessment.
They beat the Saints, 26-24 and Titans 29-28. They would have beaten the Rats, save for a late field goal.
In that game, Hoyer only threw 25 times. Completed 19 for nearly 300 yards.
Against the Saints, he was on par with Brees - statistically - with Brees having one more TD throw and an INT.
He followed that with an excellent game against the Titans.

The Browns are using a RBBC effectively and spreading the ball around, too. Their passing game has utilized an average of 8 receivers per game.

Defensively, they're winning the turnover ratio by 3.

Looks to me like this team has bought into what Jared from Storage Wars has found.

and, after kicking our teeth in via the 2nd half of the first game, they should have won that too.

The Steelers have lost their identity, as a team no one wants on their schedule. Its makes me sick hearing this. To bad the players don't get it.

They beat a bad Saints team. Have they won a road game yet? They beat a bad Titans team. They "would" have beaten the rats.. oh but if we do that then they "would" have lost to the Saints save a late FG. It goes both ways.

Hoyer isn't a bad QB but he isn't great either. He also isn't young. He's been around the league for years. He's 29 years old. He's a typical journeyman QB. Not sure what you objected to in my statement. You think because he's played 2 "good" games he is a star?

I'm just saying that they're not the Browns of years past. These guys are playing much better.

THREE dropped passes all season.

Wheaton had that Sunday by himself.

Where did I say they were the same? I said Hoyer is a journeyman QB, their HC is a rookie, they are missing their best WR etc.. and they don't have a great RB. The Steelers have more talent but aren't getting as much out of it. Right now would you trade Ben to get Hoyer straight up? How about Bell for Tate? How about Brown for whoever their best WR is this week?

how about this...

trading Tomlin for the rookie HC no one wanted?
Shanahan for Haley?
Whomever their DC is for LeBeau?

how about that?

btw - I never said you were wrong.

Who said laughing? Toying was the word.

What is hoyers record as a starter for the Browns? The Browns were playing well last year before hoyer went down. I Am not saying he is an elite Qb, but he is playing above average at least especially considering his lack of talent at wr.

Hoyer is 6-3 in 5+ years. Last year he was 3-0 but 1 of those wins he was injured in and he got the win because he started the game. He was injured after just 4 passes. They were losing 10-0 when he left. In another win he throws 3 Tds and 3 picks.

Again, he isn't a bad QB. But he is a journeyman for a reason. Yes, the Steelers should have kept him for a backup. He's an average QB. Vince Young was a horrible QB but he has a winning record.
