First off, I'm not being critical of Tuitt. So don't get bent out of shape about that. We all have losses (and I acknowledge that mine have been of the full long life variety which don't compare). And we all grieve differently. All I'm saying is the Steelers are paying him roughly 500k per game to get his mental health in order. That should be acknowledged and in this time of Mental health at the forefront maybe the league should have given them cap relief. Performance and regular injuries are one thing. But if there is a situation like this or:
Your player takes a catastrophic injury like Shazier maybe the ****** league could help our a bit on the cap while you patiently try to walk with the guy.

I don't know 'how' to categorize the Tuitt situation. All I know is that we need him as soon as possible...

Neither do I but it is starting to seem that he will have no impact on the season. The league needs to deal with special circumstances on a case by case basis. They do that kinda **** all the time.

I don't have any idea what his injury status is, so hard to really gage the situation without that insight. We could use his run blocking for sure.

I think it should be like the NHL when a guy is on IR he isn't counting cap. But I disagree with the NHL in that the player should be allowed to come back like Kucherov last year. That was horse ****.

I cannot forsee a knee injury other than reconstruction that would take all of training Camp and 8 weeks of play to rehab. Plus if it was his knee I'm pretty sure they would be clear about it so to take the heat off of him.

I dunno. I don't even play a medical Dr. on TV

Tuitt's availability is so questionable and erratic you can't count on him to be back this year. I say that noting he could be back next week or not at all. So you have to treat it like he won't be back and if he is, good I guess? At this point, and without opinion as to what the reason he remains absent is, its time to move on as if he weren't on the team and if he finally shows up its a bonus.

Local sports radio today saying he still has a knee.

To my knowledge he did nothing in camp. That is August, September, October. More than 12 weeks. Unless it's ligament reconstruction I know of no knee injury that takes 12 weeks to heal. Even with surgery.
Meniscus injuries can take this long to heal without surgery.

Also you can't lie on injury lists or designations or it can cost you draft picks. Steelers have no reason to lie on the report.

This could be something completely different regarding injury vs mental health and HIPPA. I'm assuming the NFL and Player's Assoc. has an agreement regarding releasing physical injuries etc. Maybe someone on this board knows what the protocol is in the NFL for releasing information about someone's mental state.

His knee may have been a problem but is it possible his knee is good to go but Tuitt is not yet ready mentally. I would imagine that if this is the case the Steelers, NFL and players assoc. have all had discussions regarding Tuitt and are keeping his state of mind private. They may be legally bound to do so in addition it's the right thing to do. Maybe someone has some insight on this other than my conjecture.

I know this is OT but Berm said something alarming to me. Lunar is a mod/admin?

God help us all.
