I have seen a lot of crying about these two plays

With as much NIL money as being spent, they have to be able to control out-come of the games.

With the HUGE gambling, it helps make up some of the money exchange.

Salute the nation

Explain to me how the LSU TD wasn't a TD??? The ball is clearly (controlled) and over the pylon. Robbed...
he had not made the catch yet. he went to the ground and the ball hit the ground shifted and hit a second time

he did not make the catch

Jesse James caught it and so did these two players.
not the same thing

James caught the ball, went to a knee and turned his body to lunge across the goal line. he caught the ball and made a football move

neither occurs in these two plays

Hmmmm...I'll rewatch after the race. But I appreciate that assessment...
I just watched your video again instead.

Here's what NO ONE understands (anymore) - if the TD is a passing TD - the ball only needs to 'break the plane with control', right? Surviving the catch shouldn't be a factor IMO, but I guess I'm wrong...

you still have to complete the catch. that did not happen

Second guy had 3 feet down with the ball......what is a football move if not getting multiple feet down before going out of bounds......and really, who cares what happens once a reciver is out of bounds because, to Berm's point above, passing the plane of the EZ while in possession is a TD regardless of what happens after.

If this isnt a catch, then everytime a runner sticks his arm accross the goal line and the ball falls out of his hand,, thats a fumble.

Exactly.
The whole notion of possession is ridiculous......a RB bumbling the ball, stretching and extending for the EZ has possession, but that similar athleticism by the same RB receiving the ball at the goalline is literally scored differently.

Makes no sense.

why? the rb already has control of the ball and been running with it

this kid is trying to catch the ball and there are steps that have to be completed

not close to the same thing

Catch and td.

Unless you play a team that they want to win. (See - Marcia Brady)

I think first one was a catch. You only need 1ft in in college and he had 2 feet plus he broke the plane. 2nd one the guy did have 3 feet in, but did shuffle the ball a little so that one is tougher. I think if you get 2 ft in with control what happens after should not matter

Thats exactly correct. When you pass Go, collect $50 from Jimmy.

Poking the bear again. First, it's now $62.41, maplehead ... second, he already did.

As to the topic, I think the officials should follow the players into the locker room and then the team bus to insure they never let go of the ball.
