1 Carlton Davis CB Bucs.
Tampa has him and Godwin to decide on (to tag or not to) if they go with Godwin, I quickly bring in Davis.

2. James Winston QB Saints.
I feel you have to go get the best option available and quick. He shouldn't be pricey in compared to other possibilities that would require more money and or picks. I think he has the best pure talent on what is available without a trade.

3. Bradley Bozeman C. Ravens
I thought about what center I wanted. Performance had to meet age. Perhaps some older players get targeted elsewhere but this option shouldn't cost the farm. Upgrades the position and opens the door to follow suit with LG and RT, etc.

I’ll play along. Used nfl.com top 100 for my list. Also trying not to play Madden and pick people I think we have no shot at or break the bank. All in fun and debate so let’s not break into anarchy here 🤣

1-James Daniels G Chicago
Only 24 and it says he has center flexibility

2-Bilal Nichols DE Chicago
3-4 end to replace Tuitt or give rotation depth

3-Charvarius Ward CB Chiefs
Good size, young, says Chiefs keep trying to replace him but just keeps producing

*****After putting these down it feels more like a traditional Steelers FA bargain shop. I like Slash’s idea of someone like Davis. At what cost is the question. Also want to reiterate I’m no scout or trying to plagiarize like other off-season posters here are accused of.

EXACTLY those three positions with Jamis being the QB. I wouldn't have been able to put naes to the other two.

There is a ILB playing for Atlanta Falcons that I think is going to be FA (I can't spell or pronunciate his name). He would cost a lot of $$$denar$$$. I highly doubt we go after him and he may end up franchise tagged as well.

Salute the nation

Players like Daniels make a lot of sense. First we know the FO values position flexibility. Second like I mentioned in one thread we don't have to get the top of the heaps... just upgrade those obvious deficiencies.

Spot on! I’ve always felt like Steelers have done a good job in using FA for plugging holes with outlying players rather than the Dan Snyder win the attention of SportsCenter in March. It’s not fun as a fan but it’s been successful. Don’t go “cheap”, just don’t buy the Lamborghini on an assembly line workers wages.

1. Mitch Trubisky, QB, Buffalo
2. Ben Jones, C, Tennessee
3. Donte Jackson, CB, Carolina
Different players same approach, attack those weakest areas of the team. I hope this is the approach they take and quickly.

I like this but no way they go after a center. Green will get another year at minimum. Tomlin will not admit defeat on one of his projects after only one year even if his life depended on it. He is ultimately stubborn in that sense.

Not sure why fans think a draft pick that isn't even a first or second rounder is locked in to start. I do get they took entirely too long to sit him but that shouldn't carry over to the upcoming season.

I guess from the point that we are thin on draft picks and a shitload of needs everywhere

They have all that free agent money some of those needs should be solved. Including C.

Ben Jones
Witherspoon
Mariota

Ben Jones
Witherspoon
Mariota
Like the first two. Mariota would be good if they don't address the Oline in free agency. He could chicken little run for his life which could gain a few years oops yards here and there. Especially if Green started at C. I would design a play called, "run run run ****** run".

Sure looked like Green thought that play was already part of the playbook in the 2021 season.
Very possible. We would need access to a playbook to confirm. Some verbiage to look for, "coming in hot, oops I did done it again, hot potato, one flew over the CooCoo nest, butterfinger ringer, green pastures ahead, and red rover send anyone over."

In the following order:

1. CB Steven Nelson PHIL
2. QB Mitchell Trubisky BUFF
3. C Ben Jones TENN

Yes, yes, Steelers cut Nelson to save money, he is bitter about that. Got it. Money solves all problems. He is a very good #2 CB, productive, and reasonably priced. I want the Steelers to draft their #1 CB in the 1st (Elam - Florida, McDuffie - Washington) or 2nd (Gordon - other guy at Washington, Coby Bryant - Cincinnati. No, not THAT Coby Byrant). The Steelers sign Nelson for 2 years, $15 million and have CB set for two seasons.

Trubisky I have already talked about. Reasonably priced, keeps the Steelers from "Troy Edwardsing" a QB pick.

Jones is legit, solid, reasonably priced. He makes the OL better right now. Get the RT I want (Elam in the 1st, Faalele in the 2nd - PARTY TIME!!), add Jones and Nelson, and now the biggest holes (OL, CB) are a strength.

thing is that next season Nelson will want a new contract or start feeling like a ******* hostage, better bring back Witherspoon

No doubt, but I think three years, $16.5 million, with maybe $7.5 million guaranteed, will get it done. Wait him out - if somebody really wants him, don't get in a bidding war. Let him go.

But he was a FA last year and got only $3 million from Philadelphia.

So the two guys I feel we must resign right now are Witherspoon and Adams.

Then they have to work out an extension with Fitzpatrick before anything else

I would throw money at the best OT available, then hopefully draft a stud guard

Its an utter debacle that as of right now our top ten contracts include 7 defensive guys, a kicker, a fullback who primarily plays special teams and banner, a tackle that doesn’t actually play….

The more i think about it, the more i hope we don’t spend to the cap and instead roll a ton of money over to next season so we really can make a big splash

OG- Austin Corbett or Alex Cappa

OT- Trent Brown

WR- Chris Godwin or Allen Robinson

CB- Carlton Davis or Charvarius Ward

SS- Keanu Neal

DL- Folorunso Fatukasi or
Harrison Phillips
