Yeah, Iron City is right. We have to see more, much more before we know for sure but he's making a believer out of me. He's had a really nice start but he's still very raw but the good news is they can develop him the way they want. He hasn't had time to pick up any bad habits. The kid has size, speed, can get open and can catch. That first TD against the Texans when he caught the ball over shoulder was perfect. He was in perfect position with his back to the defender and had the presence of mind to know exactly where he was in the end zone.by keeping both feet in. Man that showed me a lot. Also, if you remember from that same game the deep route he ran the first time, he was open but Ben over threw the ball. Then Ben comes back later on same route big play. The kid knows how to get open deep, that's for sure.
The bad habit he has he learned in college. It has been alluded to on here and mentioned a couple of times. He is not the most studious of players. His mother had to build a fire under his *** in college to get him motivated to put in the work to get back on the field, so the story goes. It has been hinted at on here and other places that he has not spent the time needed to know the playbook as well as he should. That is something that can be coached out of him and hopefully he sees the success he has enjoyed so far as just the beginning and uses it as motivation to continue to develop. He is certainly something that is needed. If he catches on to this the guys can go from being young money to smart money.
****, dream, Not taking away any of his abilities, but let the kid play. Before he is anointed saint hood, I think a few more games need to be played. I want him to succeed, as GREATLY as his potential could be, but also willing to actually give him the time / play to do that. Setting him up so high, only makes it much tougher on him to succeed.
