Not meddling like Jerry Jones, but taking the time to understand EXACTLY what the hell is going on in your business instead of being a senile, old, and uninterested sleepy potato.

If you did that you would quickly realize that the guy you let run everything for 19 years now is never getting us ANYWHERE THAT MATTERS....but then maybe you are complacent and good with that.

Sleep on Artie Potato, or better yet let someone who still has some fire in them take over and clean house.

There has to be something between the carousel of Raiders/Jets and a lifetime appointment like this. I don't care what your organization does, produces, sells. You need a cultural change or update every so often.

What concerns me is the son Dan! Is he a carbon copy of daddy? That’s who his role model has been so we might be getting more of the same nonsense.
To me the philosophy has to change big time.
First, stop this we never fire coach nonsense.
When a coach is not taking you to championships but has you mired in mediocrity, then it’s ok to move on.
Next, start negotiations with players in season on expiring contracts. That’s a self imposed ridiculous rule to not negotiate in season.
Finally, stop giving out extensions to players past their prime. There is no such thing as loyalty with these players. It’s all about the money for them.
A player like Watt, been great for us in the past but should have moved on from him. Now they’re stuck with his contract for three more seasons.
This organization needs a major reset this off season but it won’t happen.

It's almost as if they believe they have to follow as if it's some axiom they are bound to the : " Three head coaches since 1969...blah...blah..." As if that is some virtue.....LOL

NO! You hit on two then you struck out...deal with it and move on. Funny how they talk about how hard it is to find a franchise QB then think they hit on 3 great coaches in a row like that is somehow different.

Yeah...you need to face reality as an organization and move on.

Great points. The Patriots were so successful because it was all business. They weren't running an NFL retirement home or taking on people who " Love Coach Tomlin!" Yeah why do you love him? Because you know what kind of team he runs. A team where receivers as far in as the 13th week of the season don't even know where they are supposed to be on any given play...but you still cash checks.

Maybe the son Dan is more like his grandfather?

being a senile, old, and uninterested sleepy potato

epic quote. I'm stealing it.
I pondered it for a minute because he's Irish...potato famine... and all that. Didn't want to offend, but that's not why I used it...LOL. It's more of a potato just sits there kind of thing. I got it from Nikki Glaser who is very funny. She called some old dude that.

She will forever be known for the Gronk joke that caused Gronk after a few drinks to throw a fit and break a glass on the floor...LOL..she flamed him to a crisp.

Say what you want about Jerry Jones, His franchise is worth double, and the guy plays to win. Saving money and optics are not his priority.

Yeah I agree...thing is he meddles in personnel and other decisions and he doesn't know what he's doing. Well, I'm sure he knows more than he did in 1992 or whenever he bought that team, but he has other business things he tends to I think.

I would think a full time GM wouldn't have them as unsuccessful as they have been since they won SB 30 against you know who.

Nikki Glaser called Don Irerra “sleepy potato” on the Roast of Bruce Willis.

My point was Jerry cares about winning more than anything. Rooneys haven't cared in over a decade.

yet Cowboys has not been to an NFC conference championship n 30 years.

If I’m a washed up player cut by another team, I’m having my agent call the Steelers so I can cash a check for getting a uniform on and not having to do a damn thing but smile and kiss ***.

That's such a massive mistake by the team. All for what? Do they actually think they're going to build an elite cohesive team and culture with has been guys from all over the place?

**** no and never. This whole thing is the lazy mans way just to achieve mediocrity and maintain it. It ******* blows.

They have built nothing and trending toward nothing. Just the same bs.

If I had not grown up in the 70's and followed this team my entire life, I wouldn't be so disgusted right now.

It's so disappointing.

Tomlin is a horrible judge of talent at this point. He falls in love with a name and then doesn’t play them, then gives them 1 play and then they waste away collecting a check.

Yet other teams pluck players no one has ever heard of get them involved immediately and make them something productive

Dan is an ex college qb who has spent the past decade working his way through various departments in the Steelers, like the Original Dan did. Art was more into the legal and business side, not the football part

Yet this lawyer owner has specific language written into a problem child’s contract as a safeguard and decides to pay the pos anyway when he does exactly what the contract says to NOT do

This owner/lawyer is a whole other level of STUPID
Maybe that’s why he likes Mike so much, stupid people surround themselves with idiots.

if this franchise was ran like a business, we would have traded TJ and Pickens to the Cowboys this off-season for Parsons and a 3rd. Essentially gotten a carbon copy of TJ and gotten younger. We already had the trade window open with the Cowboys and Parsons was openly saying he didnt want to play for them. Time was ripe to move on from TJ... as blasphemous as it sounds and is. ****, should have thrown Cam and a buffet line in the deal, too.
