If we're going ALL IN - make this trade happen!!! Scary Terry officially ask to be traded

If I was to pitt their greatest need vs the Steelers?

Highsmith

Problem with that is I wouldn’t want to let go any pass rush pieces.
It’s funny you say that. I was thinking the same thing yesterday. I think he very much could be in the conversation as a trade piece.
Not sure the team is getting what they paid for the last couple seasons with Highsmith.
Could a rotation of Nicky Herbig and Captain Jack Sawyer replacing Highsmith be a better and cheaper option?
Would the Redskins bite for this return?
Would Rooney pay big money to two receivers?
Could get interesting but would be shocked to see them pay two receivers.

Let's discuss this - again.

How logical is it for the organization to hedge their bets on this "imaginary franchise QB" in next year's draft??? Will Howard is still vet unproven and very well could be the answer at QB. Only God knows...

Arch Manning is the shiny object that the media is pimping and he's... unproven. Do you throw all the chips in on a QB with only ONE YEAR of collegiate experience at QB1???

You mean like Joe Burrow? (just devils advocate to that argument)

And this was EXACTLY what I was expecting in a response!

I hate to admit Burrow, when healthy, it's above the line; but he's been a China doll most seasons. Would scouts have seen this is he played more in college??? I don't know but Joe is burroughing as a Bungal... donkeys are useful depending on the task...

If they are going down this road Id prefer a player over a pick and frankly would be ok with Highsmith. They have good depth and Im thinking a combo of Herbig and Sawyer could pretty much make up for it. Im OK with some push in the chips here but not at the expense of the future. On paper they have a good team. But once the injuries set in much less the coaching this is not a SB team. No ****** way. But if you want to go good player for good player. Sure.

You’re seriously saying we shouldn’t draft a QB in round 1 next year?

If your argument is he might not end up being be a franchise guy, that’s entirely possible but what solution is there but to try?

They half to draft a QB in the top 15 minimum in 2026, full stop

What are the odds Howard as a late round pick is the long term solution? What are the odds everyone is wrong about him and he ends up being a Brady, or MAYBE Purdy (the jury is still out on him) as that unicorn late round pick that ends up being the long term answer, he hasn’t even thrown a preseason pass for gods sake

Are you seriously advocating we stay on the bad aid approach to QB we’ve seen since Ben retired?

Yes I like Manning but there are plenty of other good options in this coming draft too, someone might tank for him and he becomes a moot issue, there are others, it’s a great QB draft, obviously the front office feels that way too-they’ve shown it with their actions stockpiling 2026 picks…now is the time

Im floored you think this same team that got embarrassed in the wild card round last year now is a Super Bowl team by adding a WR2. I don’t even know what to tell you if you think this is a Super Bowl team and worth going all in on and blowing up draft capital on because they got marginally better at WR1, TE (Muth was an afterthought again last year, why will the new guy be different?), added a slot corner/FS that shows up late to practice, and a 41 year old QB

There will be franchise QBs available in next year’s draft and I’m not even factoring the half breed Manning into the equation (as he may or may not come out). Several pretty solid prospects though…likely one will be available to the Steelers without even having to move up too many picks…definitely won’t need to be top 8 to get one. That 9-20 range will likely have a couple available.

Grab a QB next year and IF Howard is able to beat him out that’s a great problem to have two good young QBs.

But let’s just focus on getting our ***** whipped this season before we get too deep into the draft talk 🤣

Back to McLaurin, I wouldn't chase him. He is looking for WR1 money, and the Skins will want top compensation to get him. I can't see the Steelers giving up the top picks and then paying our WR's that kind of coin.

If they could get him for a good bit less than DK signed for and don't lose anything higher than a 4th round pick, I would think about it seriously.

Arch is gonna pick his team if he comes out... he probably wont

The steelers dont have the draft capital to move up to 1OA anyways... they probably are gonna move into the top 15 or just inside the top 10 and draft a Drew Allar type...

My question is - "what QB, coming out, has a higher ceiling than Will Howard"???

I've gone on record to say that I like Nuzzy from LSU.

None of the other QBs give me a warm and fuzzy to call them franchise QBs because the draft is not guaranteed option for many reasons...

Arch Manning (Texas), Drew Allar (Penn State), Garrett Nussmeier (LSU), Cade Klubnik (Clemson), LaNorris Sellers (South Carolina).

There’s a reason why Howard went to Kansas State and middled around for 3 seasons in the transfer portal era…you’d hurt our draft stock by giving up a 1st or 2nd pick for a WR2 or forgo taking one of these guys on the chance the whole league was wrong about Howard letting him fall to round 6? Before Howard even sniffs regular season action?

There is no way Tomlin plays Howard this year before Rodgers and Rudolph, everyone knows that’s how Tomlin operates so you’d be forgoing a QB in a great QB draft with the capital to move up, on a wing and a prayer-setting the franchise back multiple years more if you’re wrong

Well first they have to play the college season out. And I agree don't spend a first just to spend it. You could get something in the third to compete with Howard and Rudy next year.

Drew Allar??? Really? LaNorris Sellers???

I've watched both for their collegiate careers. Boo!!!

Nuzzy and Klubby are legitimate options but this season will be the 'reason to pursue' them...

Who, ever, said that Howard should be QB1 over A-A Ron or Rudy???

If his path is via injury... then he needs to shine when the opportunity shows itself.

The point is you’ll know nothing about Howard in March 2026, he won’t be on the field barring injuries to Rodgers and Rudolph, and you can’t pass on a great QB draft for the chance a 6th round QB with no playing time will be that guy.

Sellers has the “ceiling” you mentioned, and here’s the thing-the Steelers have all season to watch him and evaluate like the other top prospects-it’s a great class sitting here today. What they don’t do is blow a high draft pick you might need to move up and draft your QB of the future on a WR2. You keep your powder dry for a high end QB-without that all you get is more Tomlinships and 1st round playoff beat downs

Forgive us if we don’t trust your evaluation of Allar and Sellers in August before they take a snap this season, especially since you’re the guy who doubled down on Shedeur Sanders being a star and worth a high pick after the whole league passed on him time after time and he’s 4th string on the Browns as of today

All this drafting a QB talk will be rendered moot after Rodgers wins a SB and decides to return for the repeat after realizing he and Tomlin are like peanut butter and chocolate…of course as the Steelers are cruising to the playoffs as the one seed at 14-2 and Howard steps in in week 18 to drop 5 TDs and 500 yards on the Rats knocking them out of playoff contention all doubts will be eliminated on the back of his 158.3 rating for the season looking like he’s Skenes in there dealing.

Tomlin won’t blink and will realize we have both the now and the future on the roster…he is well compensated to make all these sorts of things happen.
