Antonio Brown relinquished his hold on the top spot for yards to T.Y. Hilton (14 yards separate the two), but he claimed the top spot in receptions (and targets) with 60. At the halfway mark, He's on pace to best his last years numbers in both yards and receptions. All this while waiting for a second receiver to step up (Martavis Bryant anyone?). He is also in a two way tie for 4th in TD's with 7 (Gronk is the other, and there is a three way tie at 9 with Gates, Cobb, and Julius Thomas). Since the start of the 2013 season, no one has more catches, yards, targets, or catches for first downs than Antonio Brown.

Interestingly enough, while Bell has given up some ground in the rushing numbers, he is tied with Greg Olsen for 14th in receptions with 42!! Still third in rushing yards behind Murray and Foster, but has 46 less carries than Murray, and Murray still has to play tonight. The one number that Bell falls short in is rushing TD's. But he hasn't been given many opportunities to get them either.

With 38 more receptions, Heath Miller will move into second place on the Steelers all time receiving list (receptions, not yards), Antonio Brown is already in 7th, and by the end of the year will be in fourth place.

Ben holds every Steelers passing record except for INT's, he's 85 behind Bradshaw there. And would have to play 8 more years at his current pace to top that number.

Just for ***** and giggles:

Martavis Bryant is averaging 17.6 yards per catch. His first two games (7/123/3) are pretty even with Calvin Johnson's first two games (8/131/2), better than Larry Fitzgerald (9/106/0), comparable to Sammy Watkins (11/148/1), way better than Plaxico Burress (5/87/0). Not many Steeler WR have played much their rookie years to compare to. But I'd say the young man is off to a great start.

Bryant is still raw. He dropped an easy catch and run slant in the 2nd half. But one thing he does is stretch the field and give us a jump ball red zone threat we haven't had since Plax. I hope he continues to grow and become the guy we wanted in round 3 instead of Dri. lol

Didn't Bryant also run his dig route 5yds too deep? The only target that was on the wrong page with Ben all night.

Bryant made a couple of mistakes as all rookies do. However, he has shown he can not only go deep but run an out pattern and a curl to the inside. And, both of his TD's against the Colts were from less than 5 yards. He is no one trick pony like Wallace was. He seemed to be the No. 2 guy against the Colts and I think he should stay there.

This team now becomes an offensive force to reckon with. If Martavis emerges, Wheaton continues to excel and we incorporate Bell in the passing game, things become so much easier for Ben and Antonio. Im eager to see exactly how we attack the Ravens next week. If we accrue less than 17 pts, this output vs Indy will be considered "flukish". Rivalry intensity or not, theres no way this offense put up less than 24 pts vs Baltimore this week.

A case could be made that Ben was trying to be too careful with the ball in that spot as well. I like how he bounced back after his drop, didn't hang his head, just went back to work and made up for it. Looks like Brown is really rubbing off on him, good to see from a young raw player like that.

Yep. Ben put the ball right near the sideline, about 2 yards past the first down marker.

Bryant was 5 yards too deep, IMO. You could tell by how Ben was looking at the spot and wondering where his receiver was.

The good news, I guess, is that Bryant was open - and I mean wide open. The CB is afraid to get torched deep, so I think that throw will be there in the future. If the CB wants to play for the 12-yard pass, he is going to get torched for a TD.

Bryant had a chance to take that pass to the house. What we do know that he is very good at is being a deep threat and in the red zone. Taking a chance deep with him once or twice a game with keep a defense honest. Few CBs can run with him.
