Initial Thoughts on lions Game

Initial Thought: Tomlinship comes a week early!

Other Thoughts:
1) The Gainwell touchdown was one of the best catches I have ever seen. Period.
2) I've been tough on Joey Porter, but he had a very good game against St. Brown and Jameson Williams.
3) It's hard to comprehend how the run defense allowed 15 yards today on the road, after giving up 249 at home just three weeks ago.
4) Boz missing that 37-yard field goal added a whole lot more stress to Detroit's final possession -- having that cushion of being up by 8 would have been nice.
5) Ravens losing on SNF adds the cherry on top as the Steelers can clinch the division next weekend. Not confident at all based on recent playoff disappointments, but it is still enjoyable as a fan to see this team win.

Just a huge difference when Harmon is available. The guy is a force against the run…

This isn’t talked about much but as I always say team chemistry is important.

Not to mention a strong desire to win. AARon has that. He hates to lose, he might be on my same level of that which is a pretty crazy level. In the pursuit of that he holds players accountable on the spot. Not waiting to half time or after a game. He tells you about yourself right then and there.

I know people like they did with Ben will lessen this in their mind as the pair wasn’t always popular for whatever reason.

For me he gets the MVP tag of the Steelers as this style of want to can be infectious. Leaders lead and he has put the Steelers in position to lead them to a playoff encounter. If the team believes in him enough he very well might lead them to a playoff win. That is the cart before the horse but I am giving the man credit where credit is due.

Stayed away but went 1-1 on the other late games and hit with NE
Good deal man.
No luck for me yesterday.
Buffalo screwed up my three team parlay.

Speaking of Buffalo, their defense is very soft. I don’t know how we let them come in and lay an *** whooping on us like they did.

Yup Buffalo screwed my four teamer
Which suck because I usually take the Clowns at home where their D is much better than on road

We just need to contain Cook

I appreciate that opinion, but the presence of one man cannot account for a 234-yard difference in rushing yards allowed. Of course the game flow was a lot different (Detroit only had 12 carries), but the Lions were #5 in the league in rushing offense coming in, averaging 4.92 yards per carry. Yesterday they averaged 1.25.

There had to be a level of scheme adjustment. Maybe there is some hope for this coaching staff. Maybe they are finally realizing that they can't just do what they do against any group of nameless gray faces. Or maybe (more likely) it was just an anomaly. We'll find out for sure on Wild Card Weekend.

Everyone played with snap, crackle and pop because they have to face Roger's. He expects them to be in their spot and on time. You can see it in his face. They fear him more than they fear Tomlin.

His ball placement is still excellent.

The narrative around Rodgers was absolutely crazy. Looking back, I wish the Steelers would've signed him when he was first available. I never liked the guy, but boy is the perspective different when he's on your team. I keep saying that it's nice to finally have an adult in the locker room. His voice has made a difference this season.

There's about an 80-yard difference this season with Harmon in the lineup. We've seen similar stats with YPC when Heyward is on/off the field in the past. The stats are based on multiple factors, so his impact isn't as drastic as the stats demonstrate, but he's still been good in this area.
