Interesting take from Chris Hoke

Part of the problem is, I don’t think the DC can coach them up. It’s basic stuff but you know the old saying…….

”If you don’t know at this level, we can’t help YAZ”

The Steelers have the worst two coordinators in the NFL. I'm a huge Matt Canada fan, but this offense needs to stay in the NCAA.
If that is the case, and it seems to be, then those that hired them need to be accountable.

Having the worst coordinator is a Longshot at 1/32. Having both those last place underachievers means incompetence above.

At some point this house of cards needs to collapse from Tomlin on down.
Both coordinators are bad and have horrible track records. Canada in the NCAA and Austin at Detroit and Cincy but Tomlin hired them.
Art simply cannot keep making others accountable but not Tomlin. The fan base is growing more and more weary of Tomlin.
If they lose Monday night this could get ugly real soon. Tomlin has got to right this ship and fast.

You have seen our Coaching and how these coordinators came about,............ right?

The duece needs to hold himself accountable, Tomlin may have selected these two but Art is the one that has the final say. I can't understand how you look at Austin's track record and Canada's lack of one and just say, sounds good coach. There's others within the organization that should be asked for an opinion, even outside the organization. If Colbert thought it was a good idea, shame on him as well. Canada is exposed as literally out of his league, but you retain him.

I think Art Rooney II really needs Dan Rooney, Kahn or whoever to advise him that he cannot allow this to continue. Maybe someone already has and his commonality with Tomlin is stubbornness.

What’s also interesting, Tomlin in his seventeenth season and has zero coaching tree.

Never thought I’d read this

Me either. O'Canada is so far out of his league it's embarrassing. I watch a post game interview of his and it's just crazy on how ****-ing ignorant (stupid) sounding he is. He never answered the reporter's questions, just sort of side-stepped, making him look even worse. Arogant as hell and I can see why he wants to isolate himself from the team.

Man! 12 years ago, I was the only one saying this stuff, and got lit up.

No, there was at least one more and a partial one too.

Thread opener, you are supposed to add ........................ at the end or in the middle of title

Didn't Dan die in 2017? In any case, I think Dan Rooney would probably have better advice than anyone around Art II.

Talking about the younger Dan who as rumour has it will take over one Art II steps down.

Another Dan?

.

I hope winning, smash mouth, dominating football is his number one priority.

Smash mouth football is unfortunately probably dead. We need to be more like the eagles, who run the high tech offense we think we have.
People here misconstrue our lack of an offense as being because we aren’t running the right style, and that really isn’t true…
Break down the Eagles or Chiefs and you see Jet sweeps and passes to the flat and all sorts of presnap motion

Our issues are more along the line that we don’t disguise our plays well enough… we don’t utilize the middle of the field, and our routes don’t always consider the speed of nfl cbs… which is where the “college offense “ criticism comes from.

We have the right idea. Hell the reason we hired Canada was that he tweaked the Jet Sweep into something useful at the NFL level initially…

Like i said before, if what we were trying to do was successful… we would be mimicking the eagles… thats why we are trying to get a better rungame and a mobile qb… that offense is based off of tge same concepts we are trying to use, just less conservative and planned/called/executed much better…

The Steelers defense, particularly up front, is built to get to the quarterback. They need to channel some of the Dick LeBeau philosophy's to disciplined football up front and stop the run.
