Colts owner Jim Irsay has been suspended 6 games and fined $500,000 for violating the league's personal conduct policy. Irsay's fine and suspension are connected to his pleading guilty earlier today to the charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Do you think this suspension was enough? and how do you believe this will impact one LeVeon Bell next year?

Ahh, I see that this should have no impact on Bell's punishment "IF" this is his first DUI. According to the above mentioned article: "The collective bargaining agreement says that a player with a first-offense DUI misdemeanor would receive no suspension and a maximum fine of $50,000." Of course, there's still the possession charge to consider.

What the hell is the point in "suspending" an owner?

Big deal, he has to watch the game at home on his 156 inch TV with all his buddies rather than the luxury box with all his buddies?

He won't be able to attend the owner's meetings in Oct. Of course one could speculate that he was probably so high over the last few years that he wasn't really present at any recent owner's meetings anyway.

on one hand, he can drink bourbon in a high class swanky office with a bunch of old men who smell of ben gay, banana peels and death.
on the other hand, he can snort lines off hooker's ***** while they do each other on the front of his 9000 foot yacht off the coast of Italy.

I'm just surprised that it happened.

Correct me if I'm wrong but when has a owner been fined and suspended by his commish that he pays!? RG drops the hammer on anyone. While his games suspended are like rolling dice it seems I think it's a good number.

Goodell just shortened his time as commish.

First, in answer to how this will affect Leveon Bell's thingy, it won't. Owners and players are held to two different accountabilities. Some think owners should be held to a higher standard, He was. If Leveon can do all the pre-hearing stuff to get the possession dropped, he is in the clear. If not & convicted, probably a 2-4 game suspension, that includes the STEELERS factor.

I would love to see Roggie get caught doing something. Run his worthless butt out of the picture forever.

He's a loser.

Do you think he actually has to piss in the cup? Just curious. It would have to be something in the public sense, police officers etc.. Wouldn't that make a great ESPN story, Oh wait, it'd get swept under.................. you know the rest.

I was wondering the same thing .. how does suspending an owner accomplish anything ...

I'm thinking we need Mr. Sterling in here, for an interview.

I think it's more of a symbolic gesture than anything else...How do you suspend somebody that really doesn't do anything anyway, once the ball is snapped anyway.

Another thing to think about is that the league knew the Welker suspension was coming down and Goodell wanted to show that he was a "fair" judge, jury and executioner by suspending an owner for more games than a player and hitting him with a "huge" (to the avg. person) fine.

Basically a thinly veiled PR move to counter the players' argument that he is the owners' Commissioner and in their back pocket.
