JuJu and Washington were replaced with Austin and Pickens which adds speed and quickness. When matched with Johnson and Claypool, 4 wide becomes a defensive match-up problem. Add in a QB that can run and Muth or Harris as the 5th threat and you have a rather formidable 4 wide offense. I think the potential is there to be the best we've had.

brown Bryant Sanders Miller Bell

Ward was in decline when he played with them and Sanders was slow developer. It's a ?, so we will wait and see, but it could be dynamic group.

Let's wait till at least 2nd quarter of first game to decide how hall of fame worthy theb2 rookies are
Yep… we have had some magnificent top 4’s
Two rookies dont count for squat yet… while i like tgeir potential, they could be Dre archer and limas sweed just as easily as they can be good players

Swann Stallworth Jim Smith and Theo Bell. Bell was the wink link with 29 catches for an incredible 748 yards or 25.8 yards per reception.

2 Hall of Famers and two very good receivers much better than the two middling starters and 2 untested rookies.

Meh like I said, people underestimate 2010… Ward and AB will one day be in the HOF.. wallace and Sanders each made the pro bowl in their careers… the fifth guy was ARE who was one of the more electric gadget guys in team history… but was a solid role player as a wr… plus Heath miller…

I'm beginning to believe that half of this forum was born in the 1990's and a quarter of them just started watching football in 2005

@21STEELERS21 slow your roll, this team has potential and nothing more.

5th options? Did you bump your head?

I can guarantee that neither Freirmuth nor Harris will be that far down the totem pole in Canada's offense.

I’ll play your silly game: Frank Lewis, Ron Shanklin, Lynn Swann, John Stallworth, Larry Brown TE, Franco Harris RB, Joe Gilliam QB. Lewis and Shanklin we’re as tough as two wide receivers could be, blocking and catching in a crowd, not particularly fast but swift. They would make great slot receivers now. Swann and Stallworth young and fast. the first super bowl year joe gilliam was qb as Noll had brought in Lionel Taylor to rework the passing game and Dan Radakovich to rework the offensive line. it was Mad Rad‘s second stint with the Steelers having helped Noll build the Steeler curtain. He reworked the line stance, inventing the modern stance that’s dominate in football now where the line doesnt have their hand in the dirt. Gilliam was first black qb to really be the starter and to have the offense built around him… Noll would yell at him for passing too much, and pass he did! qbs called their own plays then, and Gilliam would yell back ”they open coach! pressure off the field was just too much and it got to him and drugs did him in… but man what could have been! never seen another arm like “Jefferson Street Joe”s not before or since, it was like a bullwhip! terry Bradshaw says same thing as they were close friends. Terry threw a beautiful ball with lots of air under it. Joe threw a high fastball strike shredding zone defenses that were just coming into vogue. Bradshaw bounced back from earlier problems, he and Franco lead the team to first super bowl win and in years to come he would lead the passing game. All those guys way ahead of their times, would love to see them now with the changes both on and off the field. GoSteelers!!
