Negative on that theory. You can explain that many different ways.

For instance, there are many that just tow the party line due to a lack of education on the issues. Example: I know a lot of Democrats like that that put their hands up and say simple **** like "No, no, no, Democrats are for the working man and Republicans are not." Asked to justify the thinking, they cannot, will not, it's "just how it is." I know they don't follow the news. They simply toe the party line.

Then there are those that really do pay attention, follow the news, read, and form opinions and are very up to speed on the issues. I'd say I'm one of them. On average I spend an hour a day, and when I'm traveling, hours per day devouring radio, internet, and/or print news. I consider myself as probably in the upper 10% of Americans who spend time to educate themselves on the issues. And I scored VERY high for a party. It's not a matter of taking cues. I tried to be honest and answer as best I could what I "believe" in.

There can be hundreds of reasons for someone scoring near 100% that have nothing to do with "taking cues."

Take my cue from? Explain that please. I was shocked I scored so high as a Republican. I tend to think of myself as Conservative with libertarian social views. My guess is that this poll didn't separate CONSERVATIVE from Republican...there is a big difference.

I passed this quiz on to my grandchildren, mid twenty's age and noticed a remarkable difference in the results. All three had mostly even score in Rep, Dem, Green and Libertarian Party scores. Like Sluzilla there wasn't but a ten point difference between the high and low scores and they were all in the low 80's to low 70's. Looks like the Leftist teachers have done their job pretty well.

Give them a couple more years working for a living and they will understand better , I hope. These kids have little choice but to believe in Global warming, income redistribution, big govt and massive entitlements when that's all they are taught from kindergarten on.
