It doesn't take a big man to admit he was wrong.

It simply takes a wrong man.

Clearly the Steelers took this Atlanta game much more seriously than I expected them to.

Well played Pittsburgh Steelers. Well played.

I think you're on to something, wig. We've got Pom Pom threads after a loss, Negative threads after a win....and now we have the confession thread. Brilliant, dude!!

I would have been right there with you last week Wig. No way I was picking the Steelers to win this game. I thought they'd do their normal dive and play down to the Falcons. I was wrong as well and glad to admit it like you.

I will freely admit that I thought for sure they'd lose.

I figured if Julio played, we'd most likely lose.
i also fully expected either Douglas or Hester - if not both - to do well.

I will admit that I had exactly no idea what to expect. I had a fear that they would play down to the competition, but a hope that they would excel. Quite honestly those mixed feelings revolved around the defense.

I thought the same thing supe. after watching Jones play against the packers last week I would have bet he would have gotten 500 yards against us. I still think that may have been the difference this week, but that injury bug bites every team so **** them we won.

The offense can and will score points....the major issue is how the defense plays...but go back and look at our three game stint vs HOU, Ind and Balt....we created turnovers on defense and they were sparks for the offense. This game was similar...although we moved the ball between the 20s we stalled the first two drives and settled for FGs. Once Gay took it to the house that galvanized the team.

Our defense is hurting the team overall and this forces the offense (and Ben) to have to sustain drives and score (outscore) the opponent. We have to expect offensive shootouts now because a 10-13 pt lead isnt safe anymore...especially now that the leauge is enforcing illegal contact penalties and pers foul penalties that extend drives...

One things im sooo glad we are seeing now is that Ben completely trusts LeVeon in the passing game and this is a major difference that contributes to our point output...27.8 is our avg this season....we have never scored THAT many points in decades.........our previous high ranking in total offense ranking was #9 @ 24.8pts in 2007 (we are currently #6 in scoring)

If we can land a couple pass rushers to cover the liability of the secondary, we will be in contention for a SB....this HAS to be the top priority in the offseason...BTW can Suh play in a 3-4....hes gonna be a FA and Detroit aint resigning him...

Oh sure, let's give Suh $100 million to play for us! Where's the checkbook Art? Our D-line is actually set for next season and should be a strength with Tuitt, Heyward, McClendon & McCullers. Just need some more backups at DE.

I'm happy we beat a team with a losing record. Now if our trend stays the course we should do well the next 2 weeks. Lay it on the line time!

Its not about being right or wrong. The truth is that this is a very flawed team with a near MVP QB playing at his best in a very parity driven league. When he plays good/great and they win/stalemate the turnover battle, they win. If he plays ok or poor they generally lose. I believe if Roethlisberger plays well next weekend and they win he is the MVP of this league and it is only really close with Luck. There would be no other player in the playoffs who's fortune rests as closely on one player. Even teams like The PAts and Broncos eke out wins when their QB has a sub par game. Not this team. They have one win when he passed under 200 yards and he still didn't turn the ball over that game.

Suh would upgrade anywhere on that unit in a big way. If we could sign him it could be a great investment.

Who gives a **** since there is no chance in hell that we actually sign him. Maybe we should trade Antwon Blake for Gronkowski while we're at it...

A great investment. He will cost like 60 million. And unless they switch defense he is a 4-3 tackle. Nice call GM.

lol suh.
yeah THAT'S happening

I'm sure you would rather have Worilds and Jones on the field and their great production on the season. We are now so far away from having any decent 3 4 outside linebackers we could be much better going to the 4 3. One guy could give us a good front four with what we have. What are we paying for Jones and Worilds the short answer is much more than either is worth. Let me know where you will find the great nose tackle and the two good outside linebackers for next season. McCullers does not seem to be ready, And our starter McClendon seems to be getting hurt a lot and not making anyone forget about Casey, we also have no one that has made us forget about Aaron Smith either. So we could change things and improve or stay the same and next year be with out Harrison and Kiesel and have no one as good as some older veterans at the end of their career.

He might be a much better value than the franchise tag on Worilds was this year. We have no secondary, a defensive line that does not scare anyone, and linebackers that have their name followed with who? Sounds like a great plan right there.

Do my tears surprise you sir? Strong men also cry....strong men also cry.

We still have two games, two at home, I will admit I thought we played up this past week, saw some good hits, saw some up side by Tomlin on the sidelines, even the defense made some plays when needed.

Let me tell you what isn't happening. They are not throwing away Jones, Shazier, Tuitt , Heyward and Timmons so they can switch to 4-3. You can believe that is going to happen and that they will pursue a player like Sue even though this team has never once made that type of move ever. But ok you can believe that. Or you could just draft him in your fantasy league next year when he is playing for the Redskins or whatever franchise is willing to pay stupid.

Running the 3-4 is fine if you have the talent to do it but the 4-3 won't work either if your players suck.

I agree with you assessment of Ben. However, having Bell on the team with the season he's having will deflect any consideration for BB for MVP.

Yeah but most of the others have defense. Honestly Bell and Murray saw each other off in yard from scrimmage. They won't give it to AB. So if Ben ends up with better stats than Luck how can you give it to anyone else. They could give it to Watt but then they will clearly be showing a distaste toward Ben. I don't care much. I just want the team in the playoffs. However it's an accolade I'd like to see Ben get. I think it would make up for the way he got ****** in the SB. Doesn't matter but I'd like to see him put up a big game in a win Sunday. I think it would leave them no choice.

It's pretty ******* bad when you hate to play ****** teams for fear of a loss, an embarrassing loss. I look forward to the remainder of our season.
