The Dept. of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) intends on issuing a solicitation in electronic format on or about March 6, 2017 for the design and build of several prototype wall structures in the vicinity of the United States border with Mexico.

The procurement will be conducted in two phases, the first requiring vendors to submit a concept paper of their prototype(s) by March 10, 2017, which will result in the evaluation and down select of offerors by March 20, 2017. The second phase will require the down select of phase 1 offerors to submit proposals in response to the full RFP by March 24, 2017, which will include price. Multiple awards are contemplated by mid-April for this effort. An option for additional miles may be included in each contract award.

As of Tuesday evening, 225 companies — mostly construction and engineering firms — have expressed interest in building the wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, according to a website for contractors interested in doing business with the federal government.

The list includes construction companies such as Caddell, engineering firms and top defense contractor Raytheon.

Mexico’s Cemex Willing to Provide Cement for Border Wall

Mexico's Cemex, one of the world's largest cement producers, is open to providing the raw materials for U.S. President Donald Trump's promised wall between the two neighbors, daily newspaper Reforma reported on Wednesday.

"We will gladly do it," Cemex President Rogelio Zambrano told the newspaper, when asked if the company would provide a cement estimate for the controversial project, potentially worth billions of dollars

The Israeli company that built a wall around Gaza wants to build Donald Trump's wall on the Mexican border

The Israeli company that built Israel’s border fence is now seeking to build Donald Trump’s planned wall between the US and Mexico.

Magal Security Systems presented its Fiber Patrol product at a conference on border security, attended by officials from the US Department of Homeland Security, Bloomberg reported.

The company, which previously built Israel’s border fence between Gaza and the West Bank, showed US officials its fibre-optic sensor fencing, which it says is already used at airports and seaports around the world.

“We have the right product and we have the experience in Israel that helps in showcasing our product,” the company’s chief executive Saar Koursh told the news agency.
