All I can say is Ike looked like crap asa first year starter then for the next 8 was a consistent starter, he is still young and has playmaking skills, he just needs to work more with Carnell and be consistent when on man coverage.
Actually not a bad choice right now. It is unlikely Cortez would be ready to go before the end of the season anyway. The way the team is playing the playoffs might be out of the question anyway. Granted it could happen but too many indications of it not being something that happens this year. Sunday will tell us if we have a team that is getting ready for vacation or a few more weeks of work after the season.
..and there better not be anymore of this 'pushing people down' stuff during practice either. Those poor guys have to play like 90 plays on Sunday, come back and have a couple dinner parties then watch some film before getting on the practice field, so let's not get all crazy right before vacation..OK.

I think he is hurt enough to not play anymore this season. This also protects him. Smart move, and NOT a roster spot..

I don't think they needed an excuse to keep him on the bench, but did need one for an extra roster spot.
IMO it's a little of both. The rumor was that he broke a thumb but that would only be ..what 3/4 weeks, it's been almost that long now. There is a strong possibility that he has lost his confidence and is second guessing everything he does. We'll see what happens in the off season if they trade or cut him and draft a high round CB or if they don't and let him play. Either way we'll still need help at CB.
I had to revise this a little....wouldn't it be sad if they let Ike go next year and had to turn around and bring him off the couch like they did with Keisel and Harrison this year ? The way we're drafting, it's possible.

Well if Timmons isn't a waste of 10 + mill a year then you should be a fan of the raiders. He's a decent linebacker who's horrible In traffic, bad at point of attack and a dope who can't put himself in the right position or anyone else. But hey he's well worth 10+ mill a year. Please tell me how the guy who graded out as the 23 ilb in the league last year is worth 10+ mill a year GO
